Chris Hemsworth Whips Up Birthday Cake For His Daughter

Chris Hemsworth knew his way around the kitchen as he baked a birthday cake for his daughter India over the weekend. Hemsworth’s wife, Spanish actress Elsa Pataky, captured most of the baking scenes and posted them on her Instagram page.

It’s quite a sight to see Hemsworth mixing cake batter while surrounded by ingredients in the kitchen. Pataky first posted an image of Hemsworth stirring cake batter in a silver mixing bowl and posted a caption that’s in Spanish and English.

Pataky also added the final result of the birthday cake, which is a dinosaur-shaped cake decorated with white frosting, green sprinkles, and different colored candies as decorations.

Pataky included the caption, “Papa working hard on India’s birthday cake! Happy birthday India, love you more than anything! #family #love #birthdaygirl.”

Pataky’s image collage received over 46,000 likes and over 1,400 comments since last night, with many followers swooning over the photo of Chris Hemsworth baking in the kitchen.

Hemsworth also posted a picture of India’s birthday cake on his own Instagram account. The Thor actor explained in the caption about why he decided to make a dinosaur cake instead of ordering one from a bakery.

Hemsworth wrote in the caption space, “What happens when the bakery says they don’t have time to make your daughter a birthday cake? You get involved and smash one out yourself! I call it “La TRex al la chocolate.”

Hemsworth didn’t post any other images of the birthday cake, but the Hemsworth family cooking in the kitchen isn’t an uncommon theme. Elsa Pataky posted another image on her page of Hemsworth cooking something else in their kitchen, with their daughter sitting on the island and looking on.

Apparently, the photo was taken after the Hemsworth and Pataky attended the premiere of The Huntsman: Winter’s War about three weeks ago.

Pataky explained in the caption, “Papa making some late snack after premiere @thehunstman #jetlag #bestglamour #yummy #papachef #bestmoments #latrip”

Pataky’s Instagram followers went crazy over the photo of Chris Hemsworth dressed in a white shirt, tie, and formal pants mixing ingredients in the bowl while his daughter watched him. That particular image received over 70,000 Instagram likes.

Hemsworth had been traveling around several countries to promote The Huntsman: Winter’s War, which may explain why he might have been a bit late ordering a birthday cake for India. While the Aussie native made people swoon over the effort of making a cake from scratch, Hemsworth probably won’t be winning any professional baking competitions anytime soon.

Hemsworth does have a busy summer schedule ahead of him. Next month, he’s expected to start filming in Australia for Thor: Ragnorak, the third film in the Thor trilogy. Hemsworth will be joined by Jaimie Alexander and Tom Hiddleston in the third installment of the Marvel series.

Mark Ruffalo will also reprise his Bruce Banner/Incredible Hulk role in Thor: Ragnorak. Cate Blanchett is one of the new cast members in the film, and she will be playing Hela. Tessa Thompson signed on for the movie last month; her role is not listed in the IMDb credits, but she’s supposedly the new love interest for Thor, as reported by Deadline.

Chris Hemsworth has one more movie this year, the highly anticipated Ghostbusters reboot, that is scheduled for a July 15 release. Hemsworth plays a supporting role in the movie as Kevin the receptionist, while the main cast consists of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon as the new Ghostbusters team.

The first trailer for the Ghostbusters movie was released in March to mixed or negative reviews. The film is still in post-production, but Hemsworth fans can see the actor’s comedic side, which is a break from the Marvel superhero character.
