Justin Bieber Woos Selena Gomez, But She Won’t Perform His Song Or Allow Taylor Swift On Tour: Jelena Love Hints

Justin Bieber is doing all he can to woo Selena Gomez. He had posted throwback photos that show them kissing passionately, invited her to his concert, and even has a special surprise planned for her as she kicks off her tour. But Selena recently revealed that rather than reciprocate his attempts to woo her, she’s taking a firm stand in certain areas, including a refusal to sing the special love ballad all about him on her Revival Tour, according to SheKnows.

Inspired by Justin, “The Heart Wants What It Wants” will not be included on the set list for Gomez’s concerts.

“There are things that I can’t do. I won’t be performing this on this tour because I don’t want to,” declared Selena.

She became even more clear on how she links the song to Bieber by explaining that her memories of their relationship at its most romantic, followed by heartbreak, remain painful.

“It’s like when you smell a scent and it takes you back to a place that maybe wasn’t the best place. That stuff is a little bit more difficult,” admitted Gomez.

But Selena may find it difficult to forget Justin. She can erase the song that reminds her of Jelena (Justin + Selena) from her set list, but erasing him from her memory is more challenging, especially since her former boyfriend is planning a big surprise for Gomez.

An insider told Hollywood Life that Bieber is planning a romantic gesture that will take place during Selena’s tour.

“It will be a surprise, but will most likely involve something like sending tons of her favorite flowers to her dressing room, and maybe sending something funny like an inside joke between them,” shared the insider. “He wants her to know that if he’s not there in person, that he is there in spirit.”

And that’s not his only attempt to woo her. On the day of the Met Gala, Gomez and Bieber reportedly texted, and he thought he would be meeting up with Selena at an after-party. But Gomez never showed up, revealing only that she changed her mind.

Her heart apparently wants to be careful about getting broken again, but it’s more than that. Even though Taylor Swift has been known for years as Selena’s best friend, Gomez also recently took a stand and rejected Taylor’s suggestion that she invite famous performers on stage just like Swift does, reported Bustle.

Selena is staging her own revival, and it’s not just the name of her tour or an album. Gomez wants to be known as a separate entity rather than as Bieber’s girlfriend or Swift’s best friend. And that’s one reason why she rejected Taylor’s suggestion to copy Swift and have other celebrities join her on stage.

“I made a joke about this [when] Taylor was in the room, and she looked at me like, ‘You should totally do that!’ I was like, ‘I can’t have all those people come on my stage!’ She’s like, ‘Why not?'” recalled Gomez.

Selena made her point bluntly.

“Because I’m not Taylor Swift!” she asserted.

And so while Taylor likely won’t get an invitation to join Gomez on stage during her tour, is it more than that? There have been some signs that there’s a quiet feud going on between the two, as the Inquisitr reported.

But although Swift and Selena may be taking a break from their friendship as she tries to figure out her relationship with Bieber, none of it seemed to impact her ability to sizzle in her tour debut, reported the Mirror.

Gomez began her Revival World Tour at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on Friday, with 75 concerts scheduled in cities ranging from Brooklyn to Paris. The tour is beginning just as Selena earned the unofficial honor of being part of Instagram’s most popular photo.

Sharing that honor: Bieber. The photo, showing them kissing, replaced Kendall Jenner as the most-liked picture on Instagram with more than 3.5 million Likes.

And when she saw the Jelena throwback photo, Selena gave into temptation and responded “Perfect,” pointed out Hollywood Life.

And that’s not the only clue that the love between Bieber and Gomez continues.

“[Justin and Selena] have been texting and talking. It has all been initiated by Justin,” a source told Hollywood Life. “He likes…to keep her in his life. He doesn’t like it when she is about to move on and he has a sixth sense when that is happening.”
