Brody Jenner Engaged To Kaitlynn Carter: Kim Kardashian Invited To Wedding?
Move over Caitlyn, there’s a new Kaitlynn in the Jenner clan!
Brody Jenner, the 32-year-old The Hills star, is officially off the market. Brody proposed to his girlfriend of two years, Kaitlynn Carter. This is the first time the Hollywood Casanova has put a sparkler on a woman’s finger and news of the engagement spread like wildfire. Is the Y2k Hollywood “Party Boy” finally ready to settle down? Brody announced the news via Instagram, in the early morning hours of Friday, May 6. The happy wife-to-be, Kaitlynn, is seen in the post basking in the warm, Indonesian sun, giving Brody a loving kiss on the cheek.

Carter grabs Brody’s face for a super close kiss—her hand pointing towards the camera showing off the engagement ring. Kaitlynn, whom Brody lovingly describes as his “lover and best friend,” is shown in the photo rocking a sexy strapless, white bikini. Throughout the day, Brody and Kaitlynn relished the moments of their newfound union.
Carter then shared a nearly-identical photo to her Instagram feed. The photo of Brody and Kaitlynn was taken at the same moment, announcing the engagement, but from a farther and wider angle.
The romantic proposal took place in Sumba, Indonesia. Brody and Kaitlynn were on vacation at the romantic Nihiwatu resort. Close family and friends flew in to witness the special event.
The news of Brody and Kaitlynn’s engagement was announced in the same fashion as stepbrother, Rob Kardashian, and his fiance, Black Chyna. Just one month ago, Blac Chyna posted a photo to Instagram donning a huge diamond ring.
Brody’s mother, former beauty pageant winner Linda Diane Thompson, was present. Thompson was married to Caitlyn Jenner (former Olympic decathlon champion Bruce Jenner). Linda was also most notably married to record producer and musician, David Foster.
Many are wonder if Kim Kardashian will make it to the couples’ wedding. In 2014, The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star refused to extend an additional wedding invitation to Kaitlynn — feeling that Brody and Kaitlynn were not “serious” enough and that the relationship was too “new.” So, Brody boycotted Kim’s lavish 2014 Florence, Italy, wedding. Kaitlynn not being invited to the wedding strained Brody and Kim’s relationship.
“I don’t see them very often. I live out in Malibu; they live in Calabasas. To be honest, I don’t even really know Kanye that well at all. I’ve really only met him one time,”
Even so, Brody has made several attempts to mend relations with family members. Brody and his younger sister, Kendall, share the same love of nature and surfing. Brody recently reunited with Caitlyn Jenner to play a game of golf with his brother. However, the distance between Brody and the Kardashian family is painfully obvious.
“That’s the one thing that people don’t really understand is that we live two completely separate lives. And everybody ties us in together as the Kardashians and the Jenners. I mean, [Kris and Caitlyn] got a divorce, so they’re not even technically my family anymore.”
Issues with family? Maybe. Issues with women? Not so much. Never single for long, Brody has had little trouble in the women department. Before meeting Kaitlynn, Brody was notorious for being a Hollywood playboy.
During Brody’s MTV days on The Hills, Jenner dated controversial playmate Jayde Nicole for more than a year. After Brody and Jayde broke up, Jayde tweeted, “Sometimes when you truly love someone you have to let them go…I never really understood that quote until now.”
Lauren Conrad and Brody appeared as a tumultuous couple on The Hills. Brody told the Huffington Post about his time with Conrad.
“Lauren and I have always been just friends. We worked together on a show called ‘The Hills’ where we had to pretend like we were dating but we never dated.”
In all fairness, the jury is still out on whether Brody and Kaitlynn are sharing engagement news. In the photo, the ring seems to be on Kaitlynn’s right hand. Then again, the photo could be inverted. Brody still maintains this is the happiest he’s been in his life.
