Tesla Model X SUV Launched: Up To $145,700 Price, June 2016 Delivery Date

The Twitter page of Tesla Motors has given the following link to the Tesla Model X SUV, which allows those who are ready to buy their new Tesla Model X SUV after the recent launch to order one online for a June delivery date — and discover the price of the Tesla Model X that many are seeking.

The Tesla Motors Twitter account, @TeslaMotors, jokes in its description that they are “always on Ludicrous mode,” with the electric car maker and promoter of renewable energy storage taking a page from one of the many options available on the Tesla Model X page to be added to the Tesla Model X vehicle.

The first choice the Tesla Model X SUV page offers is a choice of the color of the paint job. There’s solid black, solid white, titanium metallic, midnight silver metallic, obsidian black metallic, deep blue metallic, silver metallic, pearl white multi-coat, and red multi-coat as options for the Tesla Model X colors, with the additional price options ranging from none to $1,000 to $1,500 for various colors.

Next up, the option for the 75D Tesla Model X is pitted against the choices for the 90D Tesla Model X option and the P90D option. All of those Tesla Model X options list “June delivery” dates, and they are all all-wheel drive models.

Simply choosing the red multi-coat color of a Tesla Model X with the P90D package puts the cash price tag at $117,000 — with a price of $1,200 for the destination and doc fee.

Going beyond the standard package options and adding the “Ludicrous Speed Upgrade” brings the cash price tag of the Tesla Model X up to $127,000. Adding the active spoiler and Tesla red brake calipers on the Tesla Model X keeps the cash price at $127,000.

If the Tesla Model X customer adds the seven-seat interior, which allows for seven adults to fit in the Tesla Model X, the price of the Tesla increases to $131,000.

Adding the autopilot convenience features seen in a viral video of a driver testing out Tesla’s Model X automatic driving features — wherein she grabs the wheel of the Tesla Model X when she felt afraid — brings the price of the Tesla Model X up to $133,500.

The premium upgrades package brings the cost of the Tesla Model X up to $140,500 — adding features like a HEPA air filtration system and soft LED ambient interior lighting. The subzero weather package adds another $1,000 to the price of the Tesla Model X — bringing the cost to $141,500 for the Tesla Model X that has features to better the vehicle in cold temperatures with heated seats and steering wheels. That price also includes wiper blades with defrosters.

The ultra high-fidelity sound option that wraps the cabin of a Tesla Model X in amplified sound with 16 or 17 speakers brings the price of the Tesla Model X up another $2,500, for a $144,000 cash price. Adding a towing package, accessory hitch, and high amperage charger upgrade brings the cash price of the Tesla Model X up to $145,700.

As seen in the top photo above, a Tesla Model X is viewed as the SUV sits on display at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition. Meanwhile, Tesla explains on their site the tax credits that take the bite out of the price of their Tesla Model X. They also explain the benefits of the Tesla Model X.

“Model X is the safest, fastest and most capable sport utility vehicle in history. With all-wheel drive and a 90 kWh battery providing 257 miles of range, Model X has ample seating for seven adults and all of their gear.”
