Selena Gomez: Valet Woman, Real Score With Justin Bieber, And Getting Banned In China

Diddy once mistook the Selena Gomez for a valet woman. XXL Mag writes how Sean Jean Combs is fast on the draw, but when it comes to sizing up Gomez, he was a complete failure. He even handed Selena his parking ticket. It can’t be much worse than that.

Luckily, Selena knew how to handle the situation and did not take offense. She even managed to laugh at the situation. In the same XXL Mag article, the singer and actress also got kudos for being brave enough to distance herself from her wholesome image with regards to the making of her “Good For You” hit single. And she is doing it again, having posed provocatively but tastefully for GQ.

So it does appear that she has faster reflexes than Diddy and knows how to take things in stride. Selena Gomez believes that everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion, and she is quick not to take offense with anything said about her.

In the movie and novel Gone with the Wind, heroine Scarlet O’Hara dismisses harrowing experiences with “I’ll think about it tomorrow; anyway, tomorrow’s another day.” For Selena, it is, “I’ve had worse things said about myself.”

In regard to the real score with Justin Bieber, Gomez’s on-again-off-again boyfriend, many would be relieved to know that there has been some closure. The past three weeks have been a non-stop barrage of unidentified sources saying something and then turning around to say something completely different. So here’s the scoop.

Thanks to Hollywood Life and Enstarz for dishing about the real deal between Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber. It does put things in proper perspective. It is also good to know that Justin has congratulated Selena for a job well done with the GQ pictorial.

In lieu of the clarifications, perhaps it’s not a good idea to refer to it all as closure. Justin and Selena appear to be in a non-committal, open-end kind of relationship right now. It’s kind of dysfunctional, but this tends to happen between two individuals who are old flames.

However, there’s some bad news on the horizon. It looks like Selena Gomez isn’t going to have any concerts in China, as she is banned from any appearance in the communist country. That is mainly because of a photograph of her getting chummy with the Dalai Lama, who seems to take a great liking for the young star.

Apparently, it’s a bad idea to be photographed with the religious leader, as Maroon 5 and even Bon Jovi has had a similar experience with the communist nation, according to Mediaite. So the moral of the story is never to get caught with the Dalai Lama on social media. This applies to entertainers who plan to set foot in the country or intend to do some business there.

The source admits that it’s not entirely sure if the Dalai Lama photo was exactly what caused the Chinese ban on Selena Gomez. However, it is basing its conclusion from the previous experience of musicians.

Friends of Tibet quotes the Dalai Lama as saying the following.

“I think more discussions will be useful. The Tibetan people want complete independence, but the Chinese will never accept that. As the free spokesman, I have every right to make suggestions. My idea is that it is worthwhile to find some middle way. One important aspect being equal rights.”

Of late, there has been no definite agreement let alone discussion between China and the Dalai Lama regarding the above matters. Hence, the chances for Selena Gomez or any artist associated with the spiritual leader of Tibet performing in China in the future look very bleak, indeed.
