‘Big Brother’ Alums Rachel Reilly And Brendon Villegas Announce Baby Name, Birth Story, And Baby Pictures

Big Brother alums, Rachel Reilly and Brendon Villegas, welcomed their first daughter, Adora Borealis Villegas, on April 8. The reality TV veterans spoke to People about what it is like to be the first Big Brother family.

Adora Borealis Villegas was born on April 8 at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angles weighing in at 6 pounds, 10 oz. and almost 20 inches long. The happy couple gushed about their beautiful baby and said that she was their perfect angel, and they are thrilled that she (finally) arrived.

“We came up with the name Adora because we adore her, she’s ‘Adora-ble,’ and we wanted a Spanish name to celebrate her Hispanic heritage. Borealis was Rachel’s must-have middle name because she’s always been infatuated with the natural beauty of the Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights. Of course, Brendon loves the name because he is a physicist and science nerd! We love the name because Adora lights up our lives like the Borealis lights up the night sky.”

The couple met in 2010 while filming Big Brother 12 when they came back and appeared on the show the following season. Rachel won Big Brother 13 and they went on to appear on two seasons of CBS’ The Amazing Race. The couple vowed they were soul mates and would be together for the rest of their lives. They made the union legal and said “I do” in September 2012 in Los Angeles.

Reilly announced her plans to have a baby just after the couple married. Rachel knew that she wanted a child and was positive that Brendon would be an excellent father. The couple experienced some fertility troubles initially. However, last year, the couple announced that she was pregnant and couldn’t be more thrilled about becoming parents.

Rachel shared her pregnancy with her fans, giving them an insight into how she was feeling and her preparations for the little bundle. At first, Reilly told her followers that she struggled with morning sickness and was exhausted. Brendon helped her by providing her with comfort foods and tried to make her life as easy (and stress-free) as possible.

Like many first-time parents, Rachel was terrified initially of losing her baby, but when she first saw the heartbeat on the ultrasound, she knew the baby was a keeper. She knew it was time to tell the Big Brother family that she was expecting and announced her pregnancy on the live show in September.

Rachel posted on her blog that she had a natural birth and had only one tear. It was important to her not to use any drugs, and she credited Brendon’s attention during the labor process as the sole reason she was able to handle the intense pain of childbirth. Reilly explained that she went into the labor process with an open mind and no expectations because it was something she’s never experienced and wasn’t sure how her body would react.

“I am so blessed to have him and he showed me again how much of a man and a partner he really is! I have a new respect for him.”

After a painful labor and rough delivery, Adora was born, and Rachel couldn’t be happier that the experience was (finally) over. Reilly stated the pain and discomfort of pregnancy and childbirth were immediately forgotten when she laid eyes on her perfect daughter, Adora.

“I never knew you could fall in love so quickly and that your heart would forever be changed. More on that in another post, but honestly just staring at my daughter has made me want to be a better person, it has made my heart so full I just look at how beautiful the world is and how blessed we are to have been given the gift of life. How something so small and innocent needs me so much for everything. She’s so beautiful and sweet I can’t express into a word that is big enough or pure enough for how much my heart feels toward her.”

In typical superstar fashion, baby Brenchel AKA, Adora, has her own Twitter account and has almost 300 followers just 24 hours after launching. Rachel and Brendon have waited for several years for the arrival of their perfect baby girl and can’t wait to see what type of personality she develops. Rachel has stated on social media that Adora has already shown her character, and she can tell that she is going to be much like her (oh brother).

Sorry Big Brother fans, it looks like Rachel will not be heading into the house this summer for a rumored All-Star Season. Welcome to the world baby Adora Borealis Villegas. Congratulations to Brendon Villegas and Rachel Reilly on the birth of their child.
