Tyrese Gibson Uses Instagram To Promote Business, Shares Visions With ‘Mr. Billionaire’


Actor Tyrese Gibson is apparently a jack of all trades when it comes to the entertainment industry.

Over the years, he has built a solid presence in Hollywood as an actor but also within the Billboard charts as a singer and songwriter. Many people may not realize that the 37-year-old actor is also a New York Times bestselling author.

However, now more than ever before, it seems as if Tyrese Gibson is striving to shine a bigger spotlight on his blossoming entertainment company, Voltron Entertainment. On Sunday, the Fast and Furious 7 star composed a lengthy letter on Instagram addressed to his fans as well as Mr. Billionaire.

At the start of his Instagram post, Tyrese plugged and promoted the launch of his new Star Club mobile application in the Apple Store. However, he then shifted his focus towards discussing business matters with “Mr. Billionaire.” Reading through the post essentially feels like Tyrese is stepping into the office of a well-established businessperson.

“Hello Mr Billionaire! One day soon I’m going to shake your hand…. Look you in your eyes and we’re going to be partners.”

Tyrese continued by formally introducing himself as well as his company to Mr. Billionaire.

“My name is Tyrese Gibson, the proud chairman and CEO of Voltron Enterprises a fully functioning multi media company with huge visions and intentions we have powerful partnerships in place. I’ve done the work, cleared out the good and average and I have the BEST there is in place to change the world. Building full on movie studios, to producing, writing and creating life changing original content.”

After sharing a brief glimpse of his visions, Tyrese shifted the focus of his discussion to the financial side of the spectrum, encouraging Mr. Billionaire to consider investing in his future visions and overall goals for his company.

“Money gets in the way… I just wanna align my visions and relationships and we change the world together. Yes, this message is to YOU! I am seeking serious financial backing for these multiple ventures – I have no gimmicks… nothing corny and…nothing temporary. These projects are very very big and significant – we should talk.”

Tyrese Gibson concluded his Instagram post by encouraging Mr. Billionaire to reach out to him via direct messaging on Twitter, referring to himself as “the horse to bet on.”

Did Tyrese make a wise decision by using his Instagram page to promote his business and reach out to potential investors? Of course! A basic overview of statistics based on Instagram as an effective marketing tool speak volumes about the type of exposure and traffic that a business can receive through this particular social media platform.

According to eConsultancy, Instagram has over 300 million active users on a monthly basis. 70 percent of them are reportedly outside of the United States, which means that Tyrese is potentially reaching an international audience that exceeds the geographical boundaries of his home country.

The report further states that the average Instagram user will spend over 20 minutes a day using Instagram. In addition to “liking” pictures, studies also show that Instagram has a high engagement rate.

eConsultancy reports that brands and companies that use Instagram experience higher levels of engagement than they do on Twitter. The average post engagement rate among the top 25 most engaging brands at the time of the report was 0.07 percent for Twitter in comparison to 3.31 percent for Instagram.

One also has to consider the size of Tyrese Gibson’s following and fan base when it comes to social media in general. He currently has over 6.3 million followers on Instagram alone, not including his Facebook and Twitter followings.

Whether or not Tyrese Gibson will get connected with a billionaire to invest in Voltron Entertainment is yet to be seen. What can be said, though, is that the longtime singer/actor is definitely using a solid marketing tool to get the word out.
