Calvin Harris Forgets Taylor Swift In Acceptance Speech, She Thanks Boyfriend ‘Adam’

Calvin Harris was so overcome with shock during his acceptance speech at the 2016 iHeart Radio Music Awards that he forgot to mention his super famous girlfriend.

The hit-making producer raised concern among fans when he accepted his award for Dance Artist of the Year at the awards ceremony on Sunday night. According to Page Six, Harris, 32, gave a lengthy speech in which he thanked everyone except his own girlfriend. He even thanked fellow DJ artist — and Swift’s arch enemy — Diplo for supporting him. But Harris forgot to mention Swift’s name in his acceptance speech.

But that didn’t stop the romantic singer from gushing over her boyfriend while he was up on stage. E! Online caught a glimpse of Taylor marveling at Calvin’s presence as he thanked his fellow artists for inspiring him and the fans for buying his music. Maybe she was too into her feelings to even notice that Calvin forgot to mention her.

Diplo was happy about his buddy’s win at the iHeartRadio Awards. According to Us Weekly, the camera panned over to the Major Lazer producer, who’s seen jokingly mouthing “What” to the camera. Harris shared a clip of Diplo’s reaction, along with the tweet, “LOL @diplo.” He also tweeted a thank you to his fellow EDM artists later that night.

During her acceptance speech for Best Tour award, Swift made sure to acknowledge both her fans for their support and then talked about Harris. She even referred to him as “Adam,” which is his real name, according to the Daily Mail.

“You know, for the first time, I had the most amazing person to come home to when the spotlight went out and when the crowds were all gone. So, um, I want to thank my boyfriend Adam for that. And I love you guys so much.”

The crowd roared because they knew that she was talking about the Scottish DJ, who the singer has been dating for a year. She nervously laughed and said “Good night!” before leaving the stage.

Harris awkwardly nodded when Swift mentioned his actual name. The singer also won awards for Most Meme-able Moment, Female Artist of the Year, and Album of the Year for 1989.

The country-turned-pop singer didn’t even forget to mention her parents during one of her acceptance speeches. Taylor recalled the times when her parents would often give her glowing praises for her singing and songwriting abilities.

“I know my mom, dad and brother are watching and my most vivid memory of growing up is my mom and dad telling me that I was different and unique and special. And I could whatever I wanted in my life. So parents tell your kids every day that they are special, they are unique, they could do whatever they want with their lives. Thank you for having me.”

During the night, Swift was up against her BFF Selena Gomez in the Female Artist of the Year category and even credited both her friend and her girl squad for her foray into pop music.

“The decision to make a pop album was no made in a conference room or by a record label. Those decisions were made in my kitchen with my girlfriends and the women in my life.”

Although Calvin forgot to mention Taylor in his acceptance speech, he made up for it with some hugs and kisses. The couple packed on the PDA by constantly hugging it out and patting each other on the back. Insiders revealed to E! Online that the couple held hands when entering the venue and couldn’t keep their hands off each other all night long. Even Jason Derulo had to sneak his way in between the cozy couple while performing one of his hit songs to kick off the show.
