Leah Messer Loses Custody To Corey Simms On ‘Teen Mom 2’

Leah Messer is seen reacting to news of her custody change during next week’s episode of Teen Mom 2 Season 7. During a sneak peek clip, the reality star and mother of three sits down with her lawyer, Lyne Ranson, who informs her that primary custody has been given to her ex-husband, Corey Simms.

While the custody change took place back in October of last year, and has since been amended, fans are just now seeing the custody battle play out on Teen Mom 2.

“I wanted to go over the order that we got with you,” Ranson tells Leah Messer in the MTV preview. “There are certain things about it that I don’t think are right – the custodial parent. The judge said that the custodial responsibility had been flipped to the father.”

As Leah Messer remains silent, Ranson goes over the judge’s decision.

“He tried to basically say his goal was to make sure that the kids got to school on time,” Ranson says, according to a March 30 report by People Magazine.

As fans saw during the Teen Mom 2 Season 7 premiere, Leah Messer appeared to be struggling to get her children, 6-year-old Ali and Aleeah, to school on time, and failed to feed them breakfast before they left home. In response, Leah Messer was slammed by Aleeah, who claimed she and her sister were always fed by Simms and his wife, Miranda.

Under her and Simms’ new agreement, he and his wife would be in charge of getting their children to school on time every day besides Monday, while Leah Messer would be required to bring them to school Monday morning after having them during three of the four weekends of each month.

“Corey’s probably going to tell me today: ‘I’m keeping the girls,’ ” Leah Messer says to her attorney as she appears visibly upset.

“Today is Tuesday, so technically he would be keeping the girls today,” Ranson clarifies, adding that Leah Messer should take some time to digest the custody change.

“I’ve already started a motion to reconsider,” the lawyer tells Leah Messer. “It’s your and his life. It’s better if the two of you could come to some sort of agreement, than lawyers fussing and fighting, or a judge making a decision.”

Leah Messer lost custody of her twins in October, 2015, but in January of this year, as reported by Us Weekly, she regained partial custody of the girls and is now in a joint agreement with Simms. Meanwhile, she seems to also share joint custody with Jeremy Calvert, her second ex-husband.

Leah Messer and Simms have been at odds for the last few years, but during a court appearance in mid-January, they came to an agreement for their girls, which leaves Messer in charge of getting her children to school on Friday morning after getting her girls on Thursday. Messer then delivers the children to Simms on Sunday, and he and his wife are required to get the girls to school on time from then on out.

As for the twins’ expenses, the Us Weekly source claimed Leah Messer and Simms will split the costs 50/50.
