‘Game Of Thrones’ Spoilers: Jon Snow Dead, Kit Harington Claims He’s Done With The Show

Game of Thrones fans are still reeling over Jon Snow’s death in the Season 5 finale, and are hoping that somehow he’ll be back in action for Season 6. Although spoilers and rumors have been flying about Jon’s fate, actor Kit Harington says Snow is really dead, and that he’s done filming the hit HBO series for good.

According to the website Winter Is Coming, Kit Harrington told the media that his character Jon Snow is completely dead and not coming back. Kit also went in depth about how he’s already lining up other projects to fill his time now that he’s done with Game of Thrones.

“[Jon Snow is] featured on the posters of season six … I’m really dead. I’m not coming back. I’ve got a film lined up straight after this [Faustus] with Xavier Dolan, The Death and Life of John F Donovan. I’m playing a young TV star about to break into movies, who is very troubled and finds himself wrapped up in scandal, and is unfairly set upon. It’s about his descent.”

The site claims that while Kit Harington has new projects to do that all of his current commitments also happen to take place before Game of Thrones Season 7 is set to begin filming, meaning that he fans are hoping there is a possibility he’ll still do the show along with his other gigs.

Meanwhile, Kit says he will missing playing Jon Snow on Game of Thrones as the show has had a huge impact on his life, even introducing him to his girlfriend Rose Leslie, who played his on-screen love, Ygrittes, on the series.

“Thrones is an amazing thing, and is going to continue to be incredible – so it is a loss not being there, in the circus. It has had an amazing impact on my life. I wouldn’t be in this, or getting a lot of the offers I have, were it not for Thrones.”

Although Kit Harrington is adamant about Jon Snow being dead, Game of Thrones fans have their own theories. Some say that Lady Melisandre may have some part in bringing Jon back from beyond the grave thanks to her beloved Lord of Light, or that another character could aid in Snow’s resurrection, as someone seems to be doing something with his dead body in the Season 6 trailer.

Meanwhile, if fan theories about Jon Snow actually being the child of Ned Stark’s sister and a Targaryen prince are true it would be terrible to see Jon die without ever finding out the truth behind his parentage, and the fact that he actually has a legitimate claim to the iron throne. Other Game of Thrones fans are saddened that Jon Snow and Daenerys have never shared a scene together, as they seem to be the two fan favorite characters from the series.

Unfortunately for fans, HBO has decided not to release any screeners for Season 6 of Game of Thrones, which means information as well as spoilers will be few and far between. The network is keeping a tight lid on the season, that their dubbing the best yet, and fans know there will be something very interesting and likely shocking to watch when the show returns on April 24. As for now we’ll all just have to bide our time until we’re transported back to Westeros yet again for another round of the “great game,” as Tyrion Lannister would say.

Until that time fans will just have to wait and wonder about the true fate of Jon Snow in Season 6.
