John Oliver Shares Thoughts On Cadbury Creme Egg Conspiracy Theory

Many people enjoy watching videos of individuals that talk about conspiracy theories, and John Oliver is no exception. While the HBO show Last Week Tonight with John Oliver did not air a new episode last night, Oliver did release an exclusive web clip in the spirit of Easter that involves the famous Cadbury Creme Eggs.

Oliver started the clip by stating how he envies people who post their conspiracy theories on the YouTube website. In fact, he called the videos “science fiction for people who don’t know they’re watching science fiction.”

Oliver then mentions the conspiracies that are available on the popular video channel, from Katy Perry is actually an adult JonBenet Ramsey, to the Illuminati are the real designers of the Denver Airport. The British-born comedian states that these theories are better than any joke that he could ever imagine.

John Oliver then gives his opinion on what makes a great conspiracy theory video. He says that two things are needed to make a classic YouTube video: A person needs to make a wild claim over something popular that in theory, was created by robots or aliens, and that a person needs “an eye for incredibly specific detail and an ability to make wild accusations with complete confidence.”

That is when Oliver states that he made his own conspiracy video about Cadbury Creme Eggs and how no one else is brave enough to post about the topic. He even states that people who question why this particular candy is only seasonally available are “tools of the establishment” and need to not watch the video.

Oliver bashes the Cadbury Creme Egg, saying that it is a horrible tasting chocolate that tastes like “mermaid placenta covered in candle wax.” He then goes into his theory on why people keep buying this chocolate candy when it becomes available to the public starting in January every year.

John Oliver, following his recipe on what makes a great YouTube conspiracy video, goes into his Cadbury Creme Egg theory that involves the Miracle on 34th Street movie, Christmas, gold metal, Germany and the U.K., Freemasonry, U2 singer Bono, and the Illuminati Eye and the Pyramids.

He pleads for the public to “open your eyes” as he claims that the Creme Egg candy are a financial scheme to benefit the elite crowd of the Illuminati. Oliver name-drops Al Sharpton, Beyonce, and Jay-Z, celebrities that are often associated with Illuminati gossip and conspiracy theories.

Oliver ends the web clip stating that his entire Cadbury Creme Egg theory is probably mostly untrue, but he enjoyed coming up with the details that backed up his wild theory.

“I’m pretty sure most of it is completely false…But it felt amazing to say, and it almost made sense. And that is what YouTube conspiracy videos are all about.”

The Twitter account for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver promoted the web clip on its page on Easter Sunday, which got several people’s attention, considering the amount of likes and retweets it received.

John Oliver’s conspiracy theory on Cadbury Creme Eggs makes for a good laugh, and people worldwide still go crazy for the chocolate covered shell that’s filled with white and yellow fondant. The Creme Eggs are the best-selling candies from New Year’s Day until Easter in Great Britain, with over 300 million eggs created each year.
