It's been one of the great onscreen romances, and the chemistry between Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford led many fans to speculate for years on whether or not they got together in real life. When Han Solo died in the latest Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens, fans were shocked to see the beloved character go. Now there's speculation that Solo may return in Episode VIII of the Star Wars franchise.
The Week UK reported that in an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Harrison Ford, the actor who portrayed Han Solo in all the previous installments, hinted that Han Solo may be back. When show host Jimmy Kimmel asked Harrison Ford if he would be returning for the next episode, Ford turned cagey about his answer. He said it was a good question.
"Who said that? Who made you the boss?"
In a throwback to Episode V, The Empire Strikes Back, Luke Skywalker survived his fall from Cloud City. Is it possible that Han Solo survived his fall from the bridge where he was stabbed by his son Kylo Ren? If Han Solo does return, it is unsure whether or not he will return alive or in flashbacks.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, there is speculation that another character will return in Star Wars Episode VIII, and that's Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. The character, portrayed by actor Hayden Christensen, was killed off at the end of Episode VI, The Return of the Jedi. Rumors further said that Christensen was going to England to train for the part while a new armor was allegedly being constructed for Darth Vader.
Fan reaction to the return of Hayden Christensen in the part has been mixed, as many fans didn't think that Christensen did a good job playing Star Wars' greatest villain. No word has been given by the studio on whether or not the rumor is true. Star Wars Episode VIII has started filming and premieres on December 15, 2017.
The International Business Times reported that the next character who may be phased out is General Leia. In a leaked scene from the latest Star Wars movie, a huge galactic war will engulf the universe, and the casualties for the Resistance Army will be really high.

In a leaked scene description, it detailed the events as follows.
"In one of the scenes shot in this stage, a rag-tag group of Resistance fighters have seen some battle. Cut and bruised, they and Poe Dameron are on this ship when Laura Dern, playing some sort of captain or officer. She tells the fighters that they are the last of the rebellion/resistance (I'm unclear on the exact phrasing of the line, so no capitalizing the Resistance) and that Princess Leia has been gravely injured and is receiving medical attention."
For fans of the franchise, this may be one more blow after the death of Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Solo was supposed to have been killed by his son, Ben Solo, who became the villain of the movie, Kylo Ren. Speculation is that Kylo Ren may also be involved in the injuries sustained by General Leia.

Speculation about Star Wars Episode VIII also included buzz about the relationship between Luke Skywalker, General Leia's brother, and his relationship with new character Rey. The cast and crew of Star Wars returned to Ireland for filming Episode VIII, and it is believed that part of the new installment will be focused on Luke Skywalker training Rey to become a Jedi. Disney is keeping a tight lid on the plot so fans won't know for sure until the movie debuts in 2017.
