Madonna Meltdown: Has The Queen Of Pop Been Dethroned?

Madonna has been the reigning Queen of Pop for decades, but it now seems that the Material Girl singer’s onstage antics and public escapades are doing more to destroy her reputation and her career than any up-and-coming rival. Recent polls are putting quantifiable statistics on that which the media has already begun to observe and that is that people are growing weary of Madonna’s outrageous cries for attention.

Rebel Heart artist Madonna labeled as “toxic” in a recent study

Madonna has entertained and excited fans for three decades, proving she has the intelligence and the foresight to remain relevant in an ever-changing society. Lately, however, the 57-year-old Queen of Pop has made little effort to show up on time to her own concerts, and when she does make her appearance, Madonna’s performances are laden with embarrassing meltdowns and sexually charged antics that are more obscene than they are erotic.

The pop star’s behavior has even become the center of attention in a recent academic study, led by Jeetendr Sehdev, marketing professor at the University of Southern California. The study asserts that Madonna has grown desperate to retain her grasp on her Queen of Pop title, and in so doing, she has actually chased away a large percentage of her most loyal followers.

Resembling the late years of Elvis Presley and The Doors’ Jim Morrison, Madonna has proven unreliable and embarrassing with drunken onstage displays, unreasonable demands, and a complete lack of respect for her audiences. Madonna has driven herself to destruction, taking with her the reputations of those artists who collaborated with her on several Rebel Heart tracks.

The survey by celebrity branding expert Jeetendr Sehdev revealed that Madonna’s reign as the Queen of Pop has been over for some time now. Already, Madonna is “17-times less influential than Taylor Swift and 15-times less influential than Adele.”

Possibly Madonna’s most alarming stunt occurred in Brisbane, Australia. That concert started out on a sour note with Madonna arriving hours late, frustrating the audience to the point that many had already departed. Things grew from bad to worse, when Madonna allegedly sexually assaulted a 17-year-old audience member. Witnessed by the surrounding crowd, Madonna reached out and pulled at the girl’s blouse, exposing her breasts in what could only have been another desperate plea for attention.

The Queen Of Pop claims New York City streets as her own

The stage isn’t the only place Madonna has staked her claim as absolute ruler. It seems she has even claimed the street outside her NYC home as her own, drawing the attention and ire of neighbors and the citations of the New York Police Department. Madonna took it upon herself to post homemade “No Parking” signs on the street outside her Upper East Side residence, hoping to keep drivers from blocking her driveway. In addition to “No Parking,” the signs read “Tenant Parking Only” and “Unauthorized Vehicles Will Be Towed Away.” Taking it a step further, Madonna had painted the curb yellow.

While an unnamed neighbor allegedly reported Madonna, resulting in the Queen of Pop receiving public defacement fines, many of the other residents in the area sided with Madonna. One neighbor says he pays to have an attendant sit with his van and move it when necessary to avoid tickets. He says it’s nearly impossible to find parking on the block.

Madonna has responded as well in her own eccentric manner.

“Yes Bishes I am Madonna and that is my driveway and if people park in front of it i cant drive in my driveway! So sorry the city doesn’t like the color yellow! We will paint a nice dull grey to keep our neighbors happy! Sorry! Im saying 3 extra Hail Mary’s this Easter for this transgression,” Madonna wrote in an Instagram post.
