NBC5 Reporter Brett Johnson Dies at 48


Brett Johnson, a reporter for NBC Channel 5 television for the past 13 years, died Sunday at the age of 48.

Johnson, from Fort Worth Texas, died at Baylor All Saints Hospital. He was admitted on Wednesday after being overcome by stomach pains. His diagnosis revealed he was suffering from pancreatitis, which cascaded into other complications over the past 5 days until he passed away earlier Sunday.

During his 13 year run as a reporter for NBC5 news, Brett Johnson covered general topics such as hurricanes or crimes, but his real passion was covering anything related to the mushc industry. Music made and performed by fellow Texans were his favorites.
