StePhest Colbchella 2012: Stephen Colbert To Host Concert At NYC’s Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum

Are you ready for “Pepsi Presents StePhest Colbchella ‘012: Rocktaugustfest?” Stephen Colbert announced on his show last night that he’ll be hosting the concert of the Summer aboard New York City’s Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum on Friday, August 10.

According to a press release, the talk show host has already secured The Flaming Lips, Grandmaster Flash, fun., Grizzly Bear and Santigold for StePhest Colbchella ‘012: Rocktaugustfest.

Colbert will be conducting interviews with each artist during the week of August 13th on his show.

Colbert said:

“Folks, if you watch this show on a regular basis, then you know that I am a big player in the music biz… And folks, I know all the latest hottest bands, like Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza … those guys are great. Well now it’s summer and that means it’s time to remount my long-running, one-year tradition of throwing my own summer concert…. We are gonna rock the boat, which won’t be easy because the Intrepid displaces 41,434 tons…. Does Bonnaroo have cruise missiles? I think not.”

“Pepsi Presents StePhest Colbchella ‘012: Rocktaugustfest” will tape on Friday, August 10th at 7:00 p.m. If you want to go, you can get free tickets at www.colbertnation.com. But you should hurry because only about 1500 people will be able to attend.
