Kate Middleton Wows School Children And Makes Last Public Appearance Before Tour Of India

Kate Middleton wore a favorite recycled blue coat and traveled roughly 25 miles to the town of Holt from her Anmer Hall country home. The purpose of the trip is to help open a secondhand clothing store, which gives proceeds to a foundation that Kate is a supporter of, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.

Vanity Fair shares as to the Duchess’ fashion choice for the event and her graceful demeanor while attending the important engagement.

“Kate—who, of course, is somewhat known for her penchant for “re-wearing” outfits—went with a blue Missoni coat for the occasion, which should look familiar: she’s worn it at least three times before, including to a wedding in 2014 and a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee tour stop in 2012. Kate “browsed racks of dresses” during the appearance, and also met a number of volunteers and families who have been helped by the charity.”

This appearance at the second-hand shop’s opening, as the publication relays, is reportedly Kate’s last public appearance for “a while,” seeing as she and Prince William are preparing to take a flight to India for their April royal tour of the country.

As VF shares, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be “spending as much time as she can with her children” before departing for the trip. So it may be a few weeks before the public gets to take in more of the beauty’s beaming smile and fashionable ensembles. Surely the absence of Kate over the next few weeks will be made up for when the couple heads off to Bhutan next month. It’s certainly exciting to think about what chic looks Middleton will sport while on the upcoming tour.

Kate wowed school children with her charm and sense of humor before she handed over her blue coat to the store owners as a donation. The Daily Mail shares how Kate was perceived by the crowd in Holt, Norfolk.

“Kate, 34, was seen charming the locals and chatting to schoolchildren as she arrived at the store in Holt, Norfolk – and it seemed some couldn’t contain their excitement, as one girl was seen grinning with delight when she spotted her.”

Middleton was the first customer in the charity shop and went right for a Fireman Sam book for her son, George, who absolutely loves the show.

“Fireman Sam is George’s favourite.”

Sarah Throssell, the manager of the shop, shared that George “had asked her to look for a helicopter, but we hadn’t got any.”

Hello Magazine shared what additional items the Duchess also purchased.

“The Duchess also selected an £8 Tom Kitten Beatrix Potter figurine, and paid for the items in cash with a £10 note. It is not clear whether the figurine was for her daughter Charlotte.”

The stunning 34-year-old was given a tour of the store by EACH’s director of care Tracy Rennie. She was introduced to the retail volunteers and the supporters as well as staff members.

While chatting with Linda Gidley, a volunteer at the charity for more than 15 years, Kate shared that one item she always likes to buy at charity shops is cooking books.

“They’re the ones I always look out for.”

A touching and impromptu moment involved an 11-year-old girl, Rebekah Hughes, with the rare Dravet syndrome. Rebekah took the Duchess on a tour of the shop. Kate cheerfully asked the girl for a tour.

“Do you want to show me? Come on then.”

Rebekah’s mother, Annabelle, laughed about the interaction between her daughter and Kate.

” I think Kate got off lightly – Rebekah has a way of taking over and she’s lucky she didn’t have her trying on outfits in the changing room. She was brilliant with Rebekah. It was a really special moment.”
