‘The Bachelor’ Star Caila Quinn Was The First Choice For The Next ‘Bachelorette’ — So Why Did They Drop Her For JoJo Fletcher?

Following The Bachelor’s Season 20 finale, it wasn’t long before the next Bachelorette star was announced. As fans watched Ben Higgins choose Lauren Bushnell over JoJo Fletcher, ABC was quick to declare Fletcher as the next star of The Bachelorette. However, Caila Quinn was actually the network’s first choice for the part. Why did producers decide to pick Bushnell in the end?

According to E! Online, the decision to pick Fletcher over Quinn was a tough one. An inside source told the outlet that producers were set on casting Quinn for the role, but Fletcher’s story was the deciding factor in the last minute change.

“It was nothing against Caila, but JoJo’s storyline was just so compelling,” the source stated. “After seeing how she fell in love with Ben and then had her heart broken, there was no doubt that everyone’s going to be rooting for her as Bachelorette.”

Quinn managed to make it all the way to the Fantasy Suites episode before Higgins rejected her. Soon after her departure, many fans suspected that Quinn might be selected to take part in the next season of The Bachelorette, and for good reason.

According to Star Pulse, camera crews were filming at Quinn’s home shortly after her exit from The Bachelor. Since producers typically select the next Bachelorette from the final four contestants on The Bachelor, many assumed that the presence of the camera crew meant that Quinn was up for the part.

Furthermore, Quinn expressed a desire to be a part of The Bachelorette. In an interview with E! News, the reality star admitted that she would be open to finding love again in the world of reality dating.

“Because I fell in love before I could see myself falling in love again, so yes, I would consider it,” she shared. “But I definitely need to take a deep breather for myself and kind of take some me time.”

With many fans suspecting that Quinn would be the next Bachelorette, many of them took to Twitter to express their disapproval. Whether or not the negative fan reaction had anything to do with producers decision to go with Fletcher is unknown.

Unfortunately for Quinn, she was not selected to appear on The Bachelorette, although that doesn’t mean that she’s done with reality television just yet. According to Wet Paint, Quinn might have her eyes set on making an appearance as a contestant on the upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise.

At this point, it isn’t clear if Quinn will be a part of the series this summer. Considering how she is genuinely looking for love and fell hard for Higgins, it would not be surprising if producers have her back to find love once again on Bachelor in Paradise.

Meanwhile, although she won’t be starring as the next Bachelorette, Quinn has moved on with her life and is looking forward to new opportunities. Along with a potential appearance on Bachelor in Paradise, this includes a move to New York.

At the same time, Quinn does not harbor any ill feelings towards Fletcher or Bushnell. In fact, in a recent post to Instagram, Quinn shared a photo of her posing alongside Fletcher and Bushnell during their time on The Bachelor. For Quinn, her time on the hit reality show was a great experience and has left her with good memories.

“Congratulations to these beautiful girls! From dancing in our pjs in the Mansion to Mexico City mimosas, can’t help but smile at all of the fun memories,” she wrote alongside the photo. “Sending love as the journey isn’t over, it’s only just beginning.”
