‘The Bachelor’ Runner-Up JoJo Fletcher Replaces Caila Quinn As The Next ‘Bachelorette’

The Bachelor finale did not disappoint, unless you thought Ben Higgins was going to choose JoJo Fletcher. In the end, Ben chose Lauren Bushnell and proposed with a reported 4-carat diamond.

With that all figured it, it is time to look ahead to who will be the next Bachelorette. Rumors were rampant that third place finisher Caila Quinn had been chosen for the coveted spot. But now that she is officially a Bachelor runner-up, JoJo Fletcher was actually chosen to try and find true love on the ABC hit. Here are just a few reasons why producers may have chosen JoJo over Caila to be the next Bachelorette.

According to Hollywood Life, Fletcher now has the perfect story for the hit reality series. After all, Higgins broke from tradition when he told both of his finalists that he loved him. With Fletcher understandably expecting to win Higgins’ heart, the rejection was absolutely heartbreaking to watch. This is an unfortunate situation for any Bachelor cast-off, but it does offer an emotional starting point for The Bachelorette.

Along with her heartbreaking storyline, Fletcher also has the right personality for the part. Fletcher is in the business of real estate and was described by Higgins as being “fun” and the “life of the party!” These attributes match up well with former Bachelorettes and make her a solid choice for next season.

Fletcher will also be able to bring of drama to the series, especially considering the personalities of her two brothers, Ben and Matt Patton. During this season of The Bachelor, fans were introduced to Fletcher’s older siblings, who proved to be overprotective of their younger sister. With the contestants having to gain her brother’s approvals, things could definitely get interesting.

Even though Ben ended up choosing Lauren, his mother was all about JoJo. According to Life & Style Mag, Higgins’ own mother wanted him to pick Fletcher over Bushnell.

“JoJo is way more my style,” she said on the show. “It has nothing to do with anything personal towards the other girl, but if I was to make that decision for Ben today… if it depended on me, I would pick JoJo.”

Not wanting to be a sore loser, Caila Quinn was one of the first ladies to congratulate her friend and all the other ladies after the big announcement, which came on The Bachelor: After The Final Rose.

“Congratulations to these beautiful girls. Sending love as the journey isn’t over, it’s only just beginning,” she tweeted shortly after the Bachelorette switch-up, Us Weekly reports.

JoJo Fletcher also seemed to be over her breakup with Higgins on last night’s The Bachelor. “The conclusion was that it happened, I was lucky to have gone through that, I learned so much and now I know what I want and I know what I deserve,” she told People.

As for coming face-to-face with the man who broke her heart and his new fiancée, “I know that was a tough situation for both of us,” says Fletcher explained. “I was super nervous but he explained it well and I have closure. I’m friends with Lauren and I think the world of Ben, and seeing them together, it made a lot more sense than I thought it would be.”

“Watching it back, I kind of had to relive it and I definitely remember how sad I was,” Fletcher continued. “But I’m not bitter and I’m not angry. Ben followed his heart. Even though it didn’t work out, it still was a great relationship and I learned a lot from him.”

For his part, Higgins looked particularly shocked at the announcement on ATFR, before saying, “I mean, guys, I’m so excited.” Higgins added: “She’s very deserving.”
