It’s been one of the least dramatic seasons ever of The Bachelor, but 2016 has had its fair share of moments with Ben Higgins. After telling both finalists — JoJo Fletcher and Lauren Bushnell — that he loves them, Ben needs to make a choice. Well, the spoilers have revealed who he will choose, but now it’s finally known just how his proposal is going to happen next week on the season finale.
Please let it be known that there are possible spoilers ahead for the new season of The Bachelor starring Ben Higgins. If you don’t want to know them, stop reading now.
The overnight dates in the Fantasy Suite are done. The “Women Tell All” special has passed with a little bit of drama, but not a whole lot. Now, time is leading up to the season finale and the moment when Ben Higgins chooses his true love and proposes to her.
That her? Lauren Bushnell.
She is the one who has captured the heart of Ben Higgins, and he is going to propose to her so they can begin their engagement. JoJo Fletcher is being told she isn’t “the one,” even though Ben did also tell her “I love you” in the Fantasy Suite.
That’s a big reason that The Bachelor host Chris Harrison isn’t very thrilled with Ben Higgins, and had some strong words for him.
Going past all of that, Ben Higgins is going to propose to Lauren B. on Monday’s season finale, and Us Magazine has said that he does it in a rather old-fashioned way. Taping for the final episode happened in Jamaica last November, but that didn’t stop Ben from being a gentleman.
Ben Higgins called up Lauren Bushnell’s father and ask his permission for his daughter’s hand in marriage. As soon as Ben received the approval and blessing of her father, an insider says he “cried out and pumped his fist in the air.”
It may not have been traditional when he told two women he loved them, but his way of proposing certainly was.
The insider told Us Magazine a bit more about the proposal which happen seaside in Jamaica.
“Ben told her she’s the most beautiful woman and he wants to wake up next to her every morning. She said, ‘I’m the luckiest girl!’ “
At that moment, Ben got down on one knee and proposed to Lauren Bushnell with a 3-carat emerald-cut diamond that is set in a platinum setting. It was created by Neil Lane and prices out at around $100,000.
Needless to say, but Lauren B. accepted.
There may be a bit of confusion as to the weight and cost of the ring, as Hollywood Life is reporting it is 4-carats total and is priced at around $90,000. Either way, Ben Higgins did well, and Lauren Bushnell is happy that it was her he chose.
Anyway, after she says “yes,” Ben picks her up off her feet and carries her away so they can live happily ever after. Well, almost. Things got pretty tense after the finale was finished filming as Ben admitted to Lauren that he also said “I love you” to JoJo.
Lauren was said to be “angry and sad” by this revelation, but knows that only good things will come from this point on. They are together and communicate well. Higgins says that he knows he has “found true love,” and that his choice is the right one.
That is, unless Ben Higgins decides to pull a Jason Mesnick on the “After the Final Rose” live special.
The Bachelor is almost over, as just one episode remains, and it will show Ben Higgins’ old-fashioned engagement to Lauren Bushnell, but is that it? One never knows what has happened in these past few months and the final word will come “After the Final Rose.”
