Glen Campbell’s Wife Shares His Battle With Alzheimer’s In Final Stages, Has Lost Ability To Speak

Glen Campbell has been battling Alzheimer’s a while now, and his wife is speaking out about how things are going now. Taste of Country shared that Glen’s wife is now revealing that he has lost all ability to speak and is in his final stages of this disease. Glen Campbell revealed that this battle was going on back in 2011, and his condition has slowly gotten worse. Back in 2011, Glen Campbell was still doing well enough that he could do one final tour, and fans are very grateful that this happened.

By 2014, Kim had put Glen Campbell into a full-time facility and was unable to be the one taking care of him all the time. She brought Glen back home for a while in 2015 and then had to put him back into full-time care. Glen Campbell is now to the point that he needs help with everything and Kim just can’t do it all on her own. Kim spoke out to WTSP News in Tampa Bay, Florida, and shared how things are going for her husband now.

“He’s healthy, he’s content. He’s lost most of his ability to communicate verbally. He has severe aphasia, but he still understands the universal language of smiles and kisses, and he enjoys food. We just trust that God has a purpose for everything that we face in our lives, and we just love each other through whatever we’re going through. Alzheimer’s is a disease that affects the whole family.”

The Boot shared that when Glen Campbell found out about his Alzheimer’s disease, he handled it all very well, sharing that he knows he can’t change things.

“I am content with it. Don’t cry over spilt milk. Get up and be a man and do what you have got to do.”

Kim Campbell also shared that the family has had a very positive attitude during this battle, which has helped them a lot.

“Life’s made up of 10 percent what happens to you and 90 percent how you respond to it,” Kim Campbell notes. “Our family chose to rally together in love and laughter and to support one another and try to make the best of each day and cherish every moment that you have together.”

It is great to hear that Glen Campbell is still enjoying life, regardless of how his Alzheimer’s has changed things. Kim founded the I’ll Be Me Alzheimer’s Fund with director James Keach. As Inquisitr shared, Glen Campbell’s family has been dealing with a bit of drama. Kim is taking care of Glen, but his son, who has a different mother, is sharing that Kim might not be all that she seems, and that he isn’t allowed to see his father without giving her one week of notice about the visit.

Travis Campbell revealed that they have involved the FBI, because they don’t agree with the way that Kim is handling his dad’s cash. Kim’s lawyer denied that this is true, but Travis says that it is all true. Glen Campbell is said to be worth $50 million. Travis shared that the children that Glen has with Kim are allowed to see him whenever they want, but the other children have to get the seven day approval.

Are you shocked to hear how things are going for Glen Campbell?Do you feel like Kim would really be taking care of his finances wrong and not allowing the kids to see him? Sound off in the comments below on your thoughts.
