‘The Walking Dead’ Spoilers: Carol Finds Romance — Was it With Daryl Dixon Or Someone From Alexandria?

As the next episode of The Walking Dead gets closer, more spoilers are starting to become available. Now we have learned that Carol has an even bigger role in season 6, episode 12, titled “Not Tomorrow Yet,” than previously thought. It looks like romance is not lost for the widowed survivor, but she isn’t going to find it anywhere obvious. Hopefully, TWD fans won’t freak out when they find out who Carol kisses when the AMC hit series airs on Sunday.

Fans have hoped for a long time that Carol would end up getting together with Daryl. There has even been a debate about whether their celeb name would be “Caryl” or “Darol.” Would it matter? A relationship between the two TWD originals would be epic, but it’s not going to happen, according to The Spoiling Dead Fans. Instead, the most comprehensive spoiler site says that Carol is going to be kissing someone from Alexandria instead. Any guesses about who it is before the big reveal?

Rather than hooking up with Daryl Dixon, it looks like Carol will be looking to a member of the original Alexandria community for comfort as Rick and the survivors get ready to take on Negan. Although we’re still not sure how their romance comes to be, but it looks like Carol will be kissing Tobin instead of Daryl on the next episode of The Walking Dead.

Is Carol’s new love interest exciting, or is it upsetting that she never settled down with Daryl? The two always seemed more like family than a possible couple. Although Carol and Daryl definitely have a bond and have protected each other through plenty of battles, that isn’t the direction that either of them wanted to go. Daryl may never get over the loss of Beth, who really did seem headed down that road with him before she died in season 5. Daryl has definitely distanced himself from the rest of the group and it’s certainly too soon for him to fall in love again.

Little is known about Tobin since most of the TWD storyline revolves around Rick and his core group. Many of the Alexandrians either died off before we got a chance to know them, or their stories are finally starting to be told now. That could be the reason for Carol’s interest in Tobin since his character doesn’t seem to have much of a backstory.

From what we know about Tobin, he’s pretty mellow and looks out for the good of the people in Alexandria. So far, the worst thing he has done is sacrifice Francine in order to save other survivors during a walker attack while he was on the building crew with Abraham. Tobin is the opposite of Carol and maybe having him around will help to keep her grounded. Where Carol has evolved into a warrior, Tobin is still only learning how to battle walkers and deal with all the other threats of the post-apocalyptic world.

We know that Carol and Tobin’s kiss will have to happen rather early in the episode. In “Not Tomorrow Yet,” Carol gets a lot more airtime than she has in previous episodes. In a spoiler released, via Twitter for Fox International, we saw that Carol is having a bit of a breakdown in season 6, episode 12 of The Walking Dead. She is seen writing in what looks like a diary as she records just how many live people she has killed since the outbreak.

Then a bit later in the trailer, we can see Carol and Maggie arguing outside the armory that Rick and the survivors are trying to take from Negan. Carol is upset that Maggie is on the mission because she is pregnant and both have been ordered to guard the perimeter of the compound while the rest of the group tries to take it over inside. It’s not shown during The Walking Dead episode airing on Sunday exactly how Carol and Maggie are captured, but Negan’s people apparently have them. As the episode ends, Rick and the survivors are standing over a bunch of dead Saviors when a voice comes over the loudspeaker to let them know that Maggie and Carol have been captured. Well, that puts a kink in their plans to take over the compound and kill Negan. How will Carol and Maggie be saved?
