Reba McEntire Reveals That Divorce Was Not Her Idea

Reba McEntire is now speaking out about her shocking divorce. Nobody expected to hear the news that Reba and her husband, Narvel Blackstock, were divorcing. Now, Reba is finally talking about what went down and says that she didn’t want a divorce at all. Taste of Country shared that Reba did an interview with Cody Alan of CMT and revealed some of what happened. They actually got divorced back in October.

Reba and Narvel were married for 26 years before their big split. However, Reba revealed that it wasn’t her idea.

“The divorce was not my idea. I didn’t want it in any shape, form or fashion. It was really hard to make the adjustment when someone’s not happy. I just want everybody to be happy in their lives because our lives are too short to be miserable. I just thought it was the best thing to take my marbles and go play somewhere else, is what Daddy used to always say.”

From what Reba McEntire is saying it sounds like she could have stayed married to Narvel Blackstock forever, but he was ready to part ways. There was one thing that helped Reba McEntire to make it through it all, though. That was her faith in God, and because of the power of prayer, Reba made it through it all just fine.

“I prayed every day to help me have the strength to move one foot in front of the other to continue on with what I’m supposed to be doing and why he put me on this Earth in the first place. You’ve got to have a great team of people around you that you love and they love you and I’m very blessed to have those people and I thank God for it all.”

So far, Reba McEntire hasn’t really wanted to say much about her divorce. Back in August of 2015, Reba shared about their split. Their divorce was actually finalized in October, but Reba didn’t even mention it until December. When she did share the news with fans, it was just in a very small caption of a photo, where she replied to someone asking her about it.

Reba McEntire also has good friends who are helping her get through it all. Taste of Country shared that her good friend Ronnie Dunn has been working on a great gift for her. He is actually restoring an Airstream that will be all for Reba. They have been friends for years and are both from Oklahoma.

Ronnie Dunn shared that they actually stripped the Airstream down to the basics before giving it to her. They are restoring it and making it look perfect for Reba before she gets it.

Dunn shared that they had really stripped it down, saying, “There’s not much left of this Airstream except bare walls, a floor, a toilet… and a faraway dream.”

Of course, Reba probably knows all about this gift, but everyone can’t wait to see it already complete.
