‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Rebecca Herbst Stalled Contract Negotiations? Michael Saucedo Reveals The Bad News — Liz Webber To Leave Port Charles?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Elizabeth Webber could be on her way out if TPTB and Rebecca Herbst do not come to an agreement with her pending contract. Several weeks ago, Daytime Confidential reported that Herbst’s contract hit a snag, and it was a possibility that Rebecca would walk away from General Hospital in the coming months.

The news of her (rumored) departure sent her fans into a panic, as they wondered what would happen to her kids on the show. It is possible that the show could recast her role, although no one can portray Liz in the way that Rebecca has the past couple years. Is it possible that the show is willing to let her go by giving her an insulting offer?

Apparently, according to Daytime Confidential, Rebecca’s contract negotiations hit a snag and General Hospital gave her an insulting offer and gave Herbst no other choice but to bow out and decide to leave the show. Ever since the report came to light, her fans have been upset and taking to social media to voice their concern for their favorite soap opera actress.

Rebecca Herbst has remained quiet and refused to comment on the contract dispute, even when ABC executive Nathan Varni took to Facebook to basically state that she was holding up the contract being signed by not accepting the terms they presented to her. General Hospital fans were pretty angry at Nathan Varni’s accusations and called for ABC to discipline the executive. As far as the fans know, ABC took no disciplinary action against Varni.

It’s a known fact that General Hospital fans believe Rebecca’s contract dispute was a (soft) firing, instead of her resigning. The powers that be didn’t give Herbst a choice but to walk away when they gave her an allegedly unfair contract. What’s worse is Rebecca wanted to stick around on General Hospital– a role she has owned for decades.

Rebecca Herbst’s husband, Michael Saucedo, tweeted the bad news that it looks like Rebecca will not be inking a new deal with ABC. Apparently, a fan asked if he had good news to report about Rebecca and General Hospital‘s contract. Michael tweeted back that he has nothing to say that would make anyone happy. It seems to point in the direction that Herbst has decided to walk away from the ABC soap opera and pursue other opportunities.

Celeb Dirty Laundry reported that Michael’s tweet was further evidence that Rebecca Herbst was planning to leave General Hospital in the coming months. If she leaves the show, it’s possible that GH will not recast her role, just as they did with Dr. Patrick Drake’s (Jason Thompson) character. They ultimately decided not to recast the role, and issued a casting call for an all-new character instead.

General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini claims he has an exciting announcement to release in the next couple days. It seems to point in the direction that Rebecca Herbst’s fate will be sealed, and we’ll find out once and for all if she will leave General Hospital, or stick for another year. When you consider her husband’s text, it seems pretty likely that she has decided to exit the daytime drama to pursue other opportunities.

Right after it came out that her contract was in limbo, reports surfaced that Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless were interested in bringing her on board for iconic roles — Abby on Days and Mackenzie on Y&R.
