Sarah Paulson Opens Up About Dating Much Older Actress Holland Taylor
American Horror Story and The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story star Sarah Paulson is opening up about her relationship. It’s a rarity for the actress, as she’s usually a very private person, but her relationship with much older girlfriend Holland Taylor has grabbed some headlines due to their great difference in age — Paulson is 40 and Taylor is 72.
Speaking with ET, Paulson discussed her sexuality, which she doesn’t want to label.
“If my life choices had to be predicated based on what was expected of me from a community on either side, that’s going to make me feel really straitjacketed, and I don’t want to feel that.”
Paulson made it clear that she’s in love with the former Two and a Half Men star.
“What I can say absolutely is that I am in love, and that person happens to be Holland Taylor.”

So when did the two meet? According to Paulson, she met Taylor a decade ago. Although the attraction was immediate from the start, Paulson was dating actress Cherry Jones, 59, so nothing materialized at the time.
She revealed some details about her first impression of her girlfriend.
“[Taylor was] probably the most exquisitely beautiful woman I’d ever seen.”
As the Inquisitr reported, the relationship was all but confirmed by sources back in December of 2015. The source went on to say that they had been dating for six months at the time. While Paulson hadn’t confirmed the relationship at that point, her partner spoke on a radio station during that time about the age difference and wedding bells.
While she didn’t mention Sarah by name, she did say, “My relationship is with a woman, and I have not — given my generation it would not be something that would automatically occur to me, but she’s mentioned it because just from a spiritual point of view, from a heart point of view… as a deed that has a very rich symbolic gesture to it, it has its attraction.”

“Given my generation it would not be something that would automatically occur to me. But as a symbol, as a pledge, as a plight one’s troth, it would be a wonderful thing to do,” she added.
As for Paulson, around the time the news hit about her relationship with Taylor, it was also noted that the actress had dated men in the past as well. Her response to labels was that “[i]t’s very clear that love is love.”
As for her professional side, Paulson is earning rave reviews for portraying famed prosecutor Marcia Clark in The People v O.J. Simpson. In an interview with the New York Times, Paulson spoke about tapping into Marcia Clark and how the public picking at her appearance really resonated with her during the whole process of portraying her.
“That’s the first thing people say when they hear ‘Marcia Clark. They don’t even think ‘lawyer.’ They just think ‘hair.'”
“Every time that you go anywhere on the red carpet, now there are websites dedicated to picking you apart, like Tom and Lorenzo or whoever those guys are,” she said. “And they are so mean.”
She also brought up her love life and how it made headlines, calling the whole experience “surreal.”
“My choices in romantic partners have not been conventional, and therefore the idea that it is ‘other’ makes it compelling.”
