Donald Trump claimed that given the chance, he could have added Britain's Princess Diana to his list of sexual conquests, Trump told radio talk show host Howard Stern in an interview that aired late in 1997, shortly after the widely beloved British princess was killed at the age of 36 in a Paris auto accident, as the car in which she was a passenger was pursued by paparazzi.
Trump — who almost 19 years later is now the Republican frontrunner in the 2016 United States presidential election — would have been 51-years-old when he made the comments to Stern on the radio personality's popular program.
The long-forgotten interview, one of thousands of media appearances by Trump in his prolonged career as a celebrity real estate developer and entertainer, was unearthed by the online publication BuzzFeed and revealed earlier this week, along with other bizarre and crude comments made by Trump during hours of Stern-Trump interviews, which were not previously available to the general public.
But BuzzFeed listened to what reporter Andrew Kaczynski described as "hours" of the tapes, recorded over more than two dozen appearances by the future presidential candidate on the Howard Stern radio program in the late 1990s and early years of the current century.
In the interview with Stern, Trump also claimed that in addition to having sex with Princess Diana, he could have prevented her death, which occurred when her chauffeur-driven vehicle crashed inside a Paris tunnel. The car's driver was also killed, as was Dodi Fayed, the Egyptian-born heir to a billion-dollar business empire and Princess Diana's romantic interest at the time.
"You could've gotten her, right? You could've nailed her," Stern asked Trump in the course of a conversation about Princess Diana.
"I think I could have," Trump replied. "She had times when she didn't look great and she had times when she looked better than anyone in the world. She had the height, she had this, she had magnificent skin, she was a great beauty."

In the interviews uncovered by BuzzFeed, Trump also made numerous other comments about women and how he evaluates their sexual attractiveness, rating various women on a scale of one to 10.
The other women mentioned by Trump in the Stern interviews included movie star Angelina Jolie, who Trump rated poorly on his personal attractiveness scale.
"I never thought she was good-looking. I don't think she's got good skin. I don't think she's got a great face," Trump told Stern. "I think her lips are too big, to be honest with you, they look like too big."

He also listed other celebrity women he would have liked to have sex with, including singer Mariah Carey — then 27-years-old — and supermodel Cindy Crawford, who would have been 31 at the time.
Asked by Stern about actress Nicolette Sheridan, a star on what was at the time the major hit TV series Desperate Housewives, Trump replied, "A person who is very flat-chested is very hard to be a 10."
Other women on his list included actresses Cameron Diaz and Julia Roberts, and news anchor Diane Sawyer.
Asked by Stern if he would have had sex with Princess Diana, Trump replied, "Without even hesitation."
In one of the most uncomfortable moments of the Stern tapes, Donald Trump — who answered most of Stern's most intimate questions with enthusiasm — appeared by become flustered and embarrassed when Stern asked if he had ever had sex with "a black woman."
As can be heard in the above audio file, Donald Trump first hesitates to answer, and then giggles as he affirms that he has indeed slept with a black woman.
Recently, however, British television personality Selina Scott claimed that Donald Trump had bothered Princess Diana with his relentless overtures, which included having "bombarded" the princess with "massive bouquets of flowers." But Diana was simply given "the creeps" by Trump, Scott said
