Lisa Vanderpump Admits She Wanted A Friendship With Erika Girardi, Defends Kathryn Edwards

Lisa Vanderpump has admitted that she was really hurt when she heard from Kathryn Edwards that Erika Girardi was speaking ill of her behind her back. On her latest blog post recapping Tuesday night’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Lisa defended Kathryn for telling her what Erika said. Lisa also wondered how Erika could do such a thing to her when she hasn’t done anything to her.

Lisa stated that Kathryn told her what Erika said with the good intention of looking out for her.

“Kathryn relayed her conversation with Erika with, I believe, good intention. She has been critiqued immensely for this, as if she was creating drama, but no, she was absolutely cognizant of the fact that I was enjoying my friendship with Erika and was blissfully unaware of the antagonism that Erika was spewing. She was well aware that I would hear it later, so she repeated the statement Erika had made. She was looking after my welfare, so she repeated the statement Erika had made.”

Lisa admitted that she was very hurt when Kathryn told her what happened with Erika because she wanted a friendship with Erika.

“I don’t know why it hurt me so much. Maybe because I had hopes of a friendship with her, but obviously she thought otherwise.”

Lisa also wondered about the motives behind Erika’s ill words about her. Lisa pointed out that she has welcomed Erika into the group and has never done anything wrong to her. Lisa hinted that viewers will understand more as the season progresses.

“To hear Erika state something so detrimental was extremely hurtful to say the least…How can one make such a vicious comment about someone they barely know? Also someone that has welcomed them into their group. I have little understanding of where this comes from. She was introduced by Yolanda, and all of us were totally supportive. Confused as to why she would level such a negative analogy toward me, I suppose we will have a better understanding as the story unfolds..”

Is Erika’s opinion of Lisa colored by Yolanda’s opinion of Lisa? In a previous episode, Erika told Yolanda, with whom she was friends with prior to the show, that Lisa said Bella and Anwar Hadid, Yolanda’s two younger children, don’t have Lyme disease as she claims. Erika later professed that her loyalty lies with Yolanda. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Erika said that she told Yolanda because she’s her friend.

On Tuesday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kathryn Edwards had lunch with Erika Girardi. Erika got emotional talking about her grandmother and said that she’s doesn’t have many women friends. Kathryn told Erika that she’ll be a genuine friend to her. Erika then gave Kathryn her opinion of Lisa Vanderpump.

“I think she’s a sniper from the side. I think she just doesn’t want to leave any fingerprints.”

Later, during a dinner party at Lisa Vanderpump’s home, Kathryn told Lisa that Erika warned her to not get close to her.

“She said just to be aware of you. She said don’t let her steer you and don’t get caught in her web…Those might not have been the exact words…Like I basically got the feeling like I need to watch my back.”

Lisa looked shocked. She took offense at Erika saying that she spins webs.

In her interview, Kathryn admitted that she might have not have repeated the exact thing that Erika told her but that Erika’s message was to basically not get caught in Lisa’s web. Kathryn maintained that Erika was warning her to not get fooled by Lisa.

On last week’s episode, Lisa and Ken Todd toured Tom and Erika Girardi’s home. They then went out to dinner together. Tom smilingly told that Lisa that she reminded him of an alligator, not looks-wise but in terms of behavior. Tom likened Lisa to an alligator who hides and waits patiently and then all of a sudden snaps at her prey. Lisa took it as a compliment.

In her blog, Lisa said that she now realizes that Tom’s words weren’t a compliment at all.

“I couldn’t understand it, because at the initial dinner with Erika and her husband Tom, I took it in good humor–his assertion that I was akin to an alligator. I never met him before that dinner, complimented him and was gracious. Now my perception is different. I understand now how I misinterpreted that…”

In her own blog post, Erika explained that her comments to Kathryn about Lisa was how she felt and was “based upon [her] in-person observations of her behavior.” Erika then criticized Kathryn, whom she now believes never had the intent to be her friend. Erika believes Kathryn told on her because she needed something to talk about and wanted to “ingratiate herself “with Lisa.

During her Watch What Happens Live appearance after The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills aired, Kathryn said that she does not owe Erika an apology for telling on her to Lisa.

“I told her I was going to be her friend but then I didn’t know she was going to be backstabbing Vanderpump…I love Erika, I really do. I think she’s a great girl but when I said that, that was before she started backstabbing Vanderpump. I tell it to your face. I’m not a big behind your back talker.”

On her Instagram page, in response to a viewer comment, Kathryn Edwards said that she wasn’t going to co-sign what Erika Girardi said about Lisa Vanerpump.

“Thanks Laurie, I do own it and you are exactly correct. There’s no hiding what is said on camera. Sooner or later we all pay the piper and I wasn’t going down co-signing on that one. PS. I really do like Erika????, you’ll see.”
