Insect repellant firm fined for breeding Mosquitoes


The head of a Sri Lankan firm that produces Insect repellent has been threatened with jail time for breading mosquitoes on their premises.

A Sri Lankan court fined the superintendent of the company 1,500 rupees ($13) and imposed a suspended sentence of six months hard labor for failing to destroy mosquito breeding areas on company premises to stop the spread of dengue fever, according to Reuters.

In Sri Lanka, the Government has cracked down on Mosquito breading areas, and has decreed that land owners must destroy, or eradicate breeding colonies and breeding areas.
