‘Stars Wars’ Latest Canon Released While ‘Bloodlines’ Gives Clues To The Rise Of The First Order Excerpt

With Disney’s acquisition of the Star Wars franchises, it was necessary to establish a new Star Wars canon. Disney recently released its new canon that helps new fans quickly get caught up to date while giving old fans a chance to know and understand every detail of the Star Wars universe.

Movie Pilot reported that the easiest way to understand the Star Wars canon was to start by watching the films. That means going back to the beginning and watching the second trilogy, Episodes 1, 2, and 3. Although the prequels didn’t actually start the franchise, they do provide all the back story for the original trilogy of Episodes 4, 5, and 6. Watching the first six movies before seeing Star Wars: The Force Awakens helps fans understand what is happening in the new film and how it relates to the current story.

As previously reported in Inquisitr, the next Star Wars movie to be released is Rogue One. Part of a series of anthology movies, each movie is a standalone and tells something new about the overall Star Wars story. Rogue One is a prequel movie and takes place shortly before A New Hope, the fourth movie in the Star Wars franchise. It promises a considerably more brutal and younger Darth Vader.

After watching the Star Wars movies, the next step is to watch the TV series. Star Wars The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. The Clone Wars takes place between Episodes 2 and 3 of the Star Wars movies while Rebels takes place between Episodes 3 and 4 of the movies. Both series are animated. While The Clone Wars series has ended with six seasons, Rebels has 29 episodes over two seasons that are available to watch now while new episodes are currently in production.

After watching the movies and the television series, and you still want more Star Wars, then it’s time to start on the comic books and novels. These include Dark Disciple, A New Dawn, Lords Of The Sith, and Tarkin. Although the comics and books aren’t necessary in order to understand the movies, for die hard Star Wars fans they are a must.

Gamers will enjoy the Star Wars games Battlefront, available on all gaming systems like PS4 and XBox, while Uprising is available on mobile. Uprising is available through both the iTunes and Google Play stores.

The Hollywood Reporter said that the next Star Wars book to be released is Bloodline. Bloodline gives clues to the rise of the First Order. Author Claudia Gray said that the story was Leia’s and would take place between the end of Episode 6, The Return of the Jedi, and the new Star Wars movie The Force Awakens.

“‘This novel isn’t fundamentally about Leia as a wife, sister or mom.’ [Bloodline is] ‘about the role she’s created for herself since the fall of the Empire, and the one she takes up by the time of [The Force Awakens].'”

An excerpt of Star Wars: Bloodlines is available for those who want to get a sneak peak into the book. The story also reveals that Kylo Ren may not be the only one of his generation to believe the Imperial propaganda that has been spread, and it is one of the problems facing Leia as a part of her role in the resistance. The novel will be released on May 3, and until then the details of the story are tightly under wraps.
