Kelsey And Katye Grammer Welcome Baby Girl, Mourn Loss Of Twin

Kelsey and Katye Grammer welcome the birth of a new baby girl into their lives, but the couple reveals that the baby’s arrival was bittersweet.

The couple of two years revealed that the Friday morning arrival of daughter Faith Evangeline Elisa was an event of both great joy and great loss, reports Us Weekly. Kelsey and Katye’s daughter arrived at 1:00 a.m. Friday, July 13 in Los Angeles. She weighed in at 6 lbs., 2 oz. “We are thrilled,” the couple told People. “Mother and child are in excellent health.” Sadly, the Grammers have long been expecting twins. Unfortunately, the birth of Faith also meant the loss of her twin brother. “We were ecstatic earlier this year, when we announced that Kayte was carrying twins. Tragically we lost the little boy shortly thereafter,” the couple said in a statement.

57-year-old Kelsey and 31-year-old Katye were initially reluctant to talk about the loss of their son. “This was not something we cared to make known publicly at the time. It was unspeakably painful and we know that people will understand our desire to keep the news private then, as we know they will respect our privacy in this matter now.”

The Grammer couple are no strangers to such loss. The two previously lost a child in the fall of 2010. Of Faith’s birth and moving forward, they proclaimed, “A glorious birth with a lingering sadness is ours today. We choose to celebrate the life that has been given us. We proudly introduce our Faith to the world today looking forward to the days ahead and the children yet to come.”
