‘Teen Mom 2’ Leah Messer & Corey Simms Are ‘On Good Terms’ After Joint Custody Agreement

Leah Messer and her ex-husband Corey Simms have reportedly come to a joint custody agreement for their 6-year-old twins, Ali and Aleeah. Although the former pair previously feuded on-and-off on Teen Mom 2, Leah Messer and Simms are reportedly “on good terms” after attending a court hearing for their children.

During a court appearance last month, Leah Messer and Simms “were told that they had a few minutes to figure the situation out on their own,” a source close to Simms revealed to Radar Online on February 1. “The judge then left the room and allowed them to talk alone.”

In October of last year, Leah Messer, 23, lost primary custody of her daughters to Simms, who was in turn given the children during the week, while she was left with just weekends. However, after their latest court date, that arrangement has changed, and Leah Messer now has her children for half of the week.

As the source revealed, Leah Messer and her ex-husband spoke “very civilly” during the hearing and agreed to share equal custody of their daughters.

“The judge only signed off on the settlement,” the source explained. “He didn’t order anything.”

“Corey and Miranda think [Leah Messer] is doing much better now, which makes it easier for them to get along with her,” the insider revealed. “They’re praying [Leah Messer] stays on a good path so everyone can remain at peace.”

Although it was never proven, drug rumors swirled in regard to Leah Messer for several months last year. on Teen Mom 2 Season 6, Simms made it clear that he and Miranda suspected Leah Messer was hiding a drug problem. Leah Messer’s second husband, Jeremy Calvert, who divorced her in late 2014, also spoke of her alleged addiction issues, claiming during the show that she had a “prescription pill problem.”

Still, while “Corey never wanted to take the girls away from their mother, he felt it was in the girls’ best interest at the time.”

During Leah Messer’s October 2015 custody hearing, a judge gave primary custody to Simms, effective immediately, after it was reportedly determined that Leah Messer “repeatedly failed to bring the children to school on time.”

Also during the sixth season of Teen Mom 2, Leah Messer faced drama within her marriage to Calvert, which came to an end during filming. In 2014, Calvert accused Leah Messer of cheating on him, as she did to Simms, with Robbie Kidd, and a short time later, he filed for divorce. Although the cheating allegations made by Calvert weren’t spoken of during filming, an affair she had with Simms was.

During the show’s reunion special, Leah Messer admitted to sleeping with Simms months after his June 2013 marriage to Miranda, and one year into her own marriage to Calvert. The announcement was quite shocking at the time, especially considering their relationship has been extremely strained in recent years.

Despite Simms’ affair with Leah Messer, he and Miranda were able to work through things and in November of last year, the couple welcomed their first child together, daughter Remington Simms. Since then, they have stayed silent on social media in regard to Leah Messer.
