Kris Jenner Helps David Schwimmer Prepare For Role As Robert Kardashian: Faces Off With Khloe Over Schedule [Video]

Although it must have been an awkward conversation at first, David Schwimmer, of Friends fame, recently tapped into Kris Jenner to learn about her late ex-husband, Robert Kardashian, telling reporters that Kris was “so warm and generous” during their two hour phone conversation. Schwimmer is staring as Robert Kardashian in the FX mini-series The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, which premieres February 2.

Spending two hours on the phone with Jenner, who was married to Robert Kardashian from 1978 to 1991, was necessary, David insisted, to learn about the lawyer. To get the role just right, David said he wanted to know “know who [Kardashian] was as a husband and a father.”

According to David, the conversation with Jenner could have been awkward, but Kris was lovely and warm during the conversation. During the meeting, Jenner revealed that Robert “was a man of great faith… a religious man.”

Kris also confided that her late ex-husband “had a very personal relationship with God,” and was very close to O.J. Simpson before the trial. According to David, Jenner revealed Robert represented Simpson in part because his faith “formed his sense of moral obligation to stay with O.J., and it wasn’t for him to judge.”

Perhaps the most revealing part of the conversation with Kris Jenner was learning who Kardashian “was as a husband and a father.” The lawyer had “a lot of strong values and ethics,” and according to Schwimmer, thanks to the conversation with Kris Jenner, he learned there is “a lot about him that I actually can identify and relate to with him, especially the loyalty.”

The miniseries The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story also stars Cuba Gooding, Jr. as O.J. Simpson, Selma Blair as Kris Jenner (Kardashian at the time), and John Travolta as Robert Shapiro.

Things also got heated on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, with Khloe Kardashian calling Kris a “f**cking liar” after Jenner booked her on too many promotional activities for Strong Looks Better Naked, Khloe’s new book.

During the episode, Kardashian confronts Jenner, telling her that she is “spreading [herself] too thin” by working on projects such as her app, “the DASH buying, with the book, which is the biggest nightmare.” Khloe then tells her mother she is “over it, I can’t work this much, cancel something.”

Jenner agrees with her daughter, but reminds her that “you agreed that this was a good idea,” meaning working on promoting the various projects. Incredulous, Khloe asks her Kris what she’s talking about, and Jenner reminds her that Khloe “agreed to scheduling all of this.” Again, incredulous, Khloe tells Jenner that she never agreed to it, and her mother is a “f**cking liar.”

In the same episode, Kim Kardashian, who recently had a baby, tells her sister that she needs to take some time for herself. According to Kim, Khloe is “writing this book,” but “it has to be true,” advising her sister that if she’s going to write a book at taking care of her mind, body, and soul, then Khloe has “to live it.”

Khloe gets her revenge on Kris Jenner, however, after the momager misses a therapy session. In typical Kardashian style, the three Kardashian sisters confront Kris, telling her to learn how to “communicate.”

In the hilarious scene, Kourtney informs Jenner that she has “a choice.” Kris can either get dunked in water, or she “can have option B which is a surprise.”

Jenner brushes off her daughters, telling them that she’s “fine.” Kris can’t get out of it, however, and the girls start throwing water balloons and cream pies at Kris! Of course, plenty of screaming ensues, as Kris exacts revenge against her daughters by throwing water balloons at them, too.
