Pearl Jam Announce 2016 North American Spring And Summer Tour Dates

American rock band Pearl Jam have announced a 2016 North American tour spanning April to August.

The North American tour will start in April in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where the band will perform at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival the same month. Pearl Jam have also set two dates to perform several gigs at the New York City’s Madison Square Garden in May. In addition, the group will cheer up the crowd at Bonnaroo in June, and in Boston and Chicago in August.

Ticket sales for the shows will start on January 29, while the on-sale dates for Boston and Chicago are yet to be announced.

“Pearl Jam will be donating $3 from every ticket sold to its Vitalogy Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works in community health, the environment, arts and education and social justice,” writes Rolling Stone.

It was back in November the group last went on a tour, where they performed at nine placed in different Latin American countries including Brazil and Mexico.

Pearl Jam was formed back in 1990 in Seattle, Washington, and has comprised Eddie Vedder in lead vocals, Mike McCready on lead guitar, Stone Gossard on rhythm guitar, and Leff Ament on bass since its inception. Matt Cameron, who also plays for Soundgarden, is a drummer and the fifth member of the band. Boom Gaspar, who joined the group in 2002, plays piano and is involved in several sessions/touring acts, as well. Former band members include drummers Dave Krusen, Matt Chamberlain, Dave Abbruzzese, and Jack Irons.

Pearl Jam are constantly touring in recent years and it’s been three years already since they last released their album, “Lightning Bolt.”
