‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 6 Spoilers — Maisie Williams Talks Arya’s Journey And The ‘Great Twist’ Of Jon Snow’s Return

While the new season of Game of Thrones is still a few months away from its premiere, Maisie Williams recently discussed what fans can expect to go down in Season 6. Along with dishing out new hints on the fate of Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Maisie also talked about new developments concerning Arya’s journey in the upcoming season.

According to Vanity Fair, Williams was asked about her part in Game of Thrones during a red carpet appearance at the London Film Critic’s Circle Awards. On speaking about whether or not Harrington’s character would be resurrected in the next season, Williams promised that fans are in for a “great twist.”

“I feel so mean because I speak to people and they’re all like ‘Jon Snow, is he back?’ and it’s like really heartbreaking because people are like ‘yeah, but he’s coming back though?'” Williams explained to reporters. “It’s a great twist but I can’t say he’s going to be alive.”

For her part, Express is reporting that Williams managed to pick up an award for Young British/Irish Performer of the Year for the London Film Critics event. During her appearance on the red carpet, Williams wore a flashy and unique dress, complete with a studded choker.

Considering her comments, it is not surprising that Williams remained mum on whether or not Jon will be back in action, but her mention of a twist is interesting. While it isn’t known for sure, Williams’ comments could point towards Jon being resurrected in a different manner other than Melisandre’s use of blood magic. Only time will tell.

In addition to her discussion on Jon Snow, Williams also talked about her own character’s fate in the new season. In particular, the actress shared how her character’s development was very slow in Season 5, but fans can expect things to pick up for Arya in Season 6.

“I feel like a lot of people were watching that going ‘What’s going on why is Arya still sweeping floors?'” she said. “And I was kind of like that too when I was reading the scripts like, ‘Why am I still sweeping floors?'”

Williams went on the reveal that her character’s storyline will eventually lead to something big in the new season. While the details are few, the confrontation between Meryn Trant featured at the end of Season 5 will likely play a big role in Arya’s journey in Season 6. Beyond that, it will be interesting to see what becomes of Arya in the new season. Hopefully, her floor-sweeping days are finally over.

Meanwhile, with Jon’s fate still up in the air, Williams added that she really enjoyed filming Games of Thrones’ sixth season. While fans have a lot to look forward to in the highly anticipated premiere, Radio Times is reporting that Williams believes fans are going to like the developments in the new season and that things were finally starting to come together.

“I loved shooting this series,” Williams explained in the interview. “I think people are going to really enjoy it. Everything is… slotting into place for the finale. All the pieces are coming together.”

At the same time, HBO has released a new promo clip on Twitter for its upcoming lineup in 2016 that included a short glimpse at Game of Throne’s sixth season. While the video only featured a few shots, it did offer fans a look at Jamie Lannister in gold armor, Daenerys, Ramsey, and Bran.

The sixth season of Game of Thrones is scheduled to be released in April on HBO.
