Salma Hayek Banned Daughter From ‘Savages’ Movie Set

Salma Hayek recently starred in the gritty Oliver Stone helmed drug cartel movie Savages and while plenty of people saw the movie this week (it earned $16.2 million), one of those people was not and will not be her daughter Valentina.

While Valentina is only 4-years-old and therefore shouldn’t have been watching an adult film to begin with, she wasn’t even allowed on the set of the film where mommy was playing a ruthless cartel “queen” who kidnaps Blake Lively’s character.

Visiting on the Tonight Show Salma Hayek said:

“She’s not going to watch this movie. Actually, this was the only movie that she was not on the set. I usually bring her on the set and she always likes to sit right next to the monitor and she bosses everyone around.”

Joking about how hard it would have been for her daughter to compete with a famed director she noted:

“I know Oliver Stone would have not let [Valentina] come in and say, ‘Excuse me, Oliver, let me just take over the set.’ No.”

With sex and violence as major themes in the movie her daughter on set could have made from some vary awkward moments.

In the meantime here is the synopsis so you can judge for yourself if keeping a 4-year-old off the set was a smart decision:

“An adaptation of Don Winslow’s novel. In the book, two friends from Laguna Beach share the same girlfriend and a thriving business growing and distributing the best-quality pot on the planet. When they resist being muscled by a Mexican drug cartel, the girl is kidnapped and the ransom is every cent they’ve made for the last five years. They agree to pay but hatch an alternate plan to get her back, get revenge, and then get lost.”

Maybe it’s a good thing for many reasons that Salma didn’t let her daughter on the movie set, after all Savages scored an abysmal 53% Rotten Tomatoes rating and nobody should be subjected to that.
