Drake’s ‘Views From The 6’ Dropping Tomorrow? Evidence Supports Rumored January 16 Release Date
Drake has been keeping fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of his fourth studio album, Views From the 6, but it appears that the wait may be coming to an end as rumors continue to suggest that Drake will be releasing Views during a new episode of his OVO Sound Radio on Saturday, January 16.
Just one week after fans were met with disappointment following the news that Views would not be arriving on its originally rumored release date, January 6, new speculation has emerged suggesting that January 16 will be the official release date for Drake’s new album given that Drake and his team have been dropping several hints about the album’s completion on social media over the past two weeks.
Two days ago, producer Noah “40” Shebib took to Instagram to share a photo of an “OVO Sound” microphone and a set of headphones, captioning the shot with a simple, “Sound.”
It didn’t take long for fans to swarm the comments section of Shebib’s photo with pleas for Views‘ immediate release, leading some fans to offer their insights into when they believe Drake will make the new album available for release.
“Saturday at 6 guys,” one fan explains, “[Drake’s] ovo sound radio episode is on Saturday at 6…he will release it then.”
Brand New Hip Hop also alleges that Drake will select OVO Sound Radio as his outlet of choice in releasing Views From the 6, noting that Episode 13 of the radio show will debut on January 16 as it relates to the area code of Drake’s native Toronto (416).
The site goes on to explain the significance of the rumored release date, revealing that Views will serve as Drake’s fourth studio album release and coupled with rumors that the album will be available on the 16th of January, the numbers represent the (416) area code of Drake’s hometown of Toronto.
It’s also worth noting that in Drake’s “30 For 30 Freestyle,” the rapper drops a major hint about Views’ rumored January release when he raps, “The pen is working if you n****s need some ghost lines / I thought you wanted yours like I want mine / I guess you just making moves on your own time / But just know it’ll be January in no time.”
The news comes just two weeks after Drake promised concertgoers during his New Year’s Eve bash in Miami that Views From the 6 is “coming soon” while also seemingly dropping hints about Views‘ release date in the caption of his Instagram photos.
Following his NYE celebration in Miami, Drake took to Instagram to upload several photos of his performance from the night before, captioning each shot with a simple, “16.” While fans initially believed that Drake was merely giving a nod to the arrival of 2016, others speculate that Drake may have been hinting at a January 16 release date for his new album all along.
Similarly, both Drake and producer Noah “40” Shebib sent fans into a frenzy last week after the duo seemingly hinted at the completion of Views in two cryptic Instagram photos.
On January 9, Shebib took to Instagram to seemingly hint that he and Drake have finally completed their work on Views From the 6 after he shared a photo of a computer folder appropriately titled, “VIEWS.”
