Watch Adele Rap Nicki Minaj’s ‘Monster’ Verse In Incredible ‘Carpool Karaoke’ Session

Adele is the biggest pop star in the world right now. Since she released her big hit song “Hello,” she has broken musical records left and right. It’s well-deserved too. Everybody knows that she can belt it out like nobody else can. So when Adele stopped by James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke,” anticipation from fans has been off-the-charts. E! News reported on the story.

Adele kicked off the segment by singing “Hello” and followed it up with “Rolling in the Deep.” Even while performing on a passenger seat from a car traveling around London, her vocal range is as spectacular as ever. Adele looked like she was having a lot of fun too.

And here’s something not many people could have guessed: Adele can rap. And when I say rap, I mean really, really rap. She ripped through Nicki Minaj’s verse from Kanye West’s song “Monster” like a professional. To top it off, her spectacular British accent provided a unique charm to the rap performance.

And wonders of wonders, even Nicki Minaj herself had to give it up to Adele for slaying it. When the most popular female rap artist tweets about your performance and calls you a “mad ratchet,” it’s clear confirmation that you have mad rap skills.

Here’s another charming discovery everybody learned during Adele’s guesting on “Carpool Karaoke”: Adele was – and still is – a big fan of the Spice Girls. In fact, Adele loved them so much she dedicated her 10th birthday to the girl group. She also revealed that the Spice Girl she related to the most was Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell. Adele recalled how devastated she was when Geri left the group.

“That was the first time she was truly heartbroken,” Adele recalled.

“So that’s what ‘Someone Like You’ is about,” Corden joked.

Adele and James then sang the Spice Girls’ most popular song, “Wannabe.”

Adele was her usual jovial self throughout the trip, cracking jokes that made James Corden laugh so loud one can’t help but wonder if he’s even paying attention to the road. Their funny exchanges revealed some fun facts about Adele too. During their performance of “Hello,” Adele revealed that she was the one who played the drums during the song’s recording.

“That’s me playing the drums!” she said.

Visibly impressed, James said, “That is what I’ve always said – that you are the female Phil Collins.”

Adele also revealed that 25 is her last age-themed album.

Corden looked mildly disappointed, so Adele explained that she believes in trilogies – to which James responded, “I want the next one to be, like, 77.”

Adele told a lot of bar room-type stories that had James rolling with laughter during the cruise. She recounted one incident when she paid for a fan’s meal after indulging herself to a few glasses of wine while having dinner with a friend at a restaurant. She also recalled when she offered a family of fans free tickets to one of her sold-out shows after having drunk a couple of glasses.

When James Corden asked her if she’d be interested in forming her own supersquad (much like the one Taylor Swift currently has), Adele said that her squad will consist of Jennifer Lawrence (who would “bring Amy Schumer”), Beyonce, and Emma Stone.

“Taylor Swift’s squad would s**t themselves,” Corden said.

Considering the fact that Adele, Stone, and Lawrence have been spotted recently hanging out in New York City in the past couple of months, the idea of them forming a supersquad is not at all far-fetched. And, yes, Taylor Swift should feel threatened.

Adele is just one of the many great performers who appeared on James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke” segment. Some of these include Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, and Stevie Wonder.
