Powerball Winning Numbers: Watch Video From Lottery Drawing [Videos, Photos]


The Powerball winning numbers have been drawn, and the wait is underway to see how many have won the $1.5 billion jackpot. The estimated value of the Powerball jackpot may continue to increase, in lieu of the fact the winning numbers have been revealed due to exponential ticket sales that continued well into Wednesday night. The Powerball winning numbers were drawn at 10:59 p.m., ET at the Florida Lottery station located in Tallahassee. Demand for the numbers was so great, the official Powerball video site, as well as the live video stream from the Florida Lottery, were down. The winning numbers are 8, 27, 34, 4, 19 and the Powerball number is 10.

As early reports come in to determine the Powerball winners, there was at least one Powerball jackpot ticket sold in California and a number of people in California matched 5 out of 6 winning Powerball numbers. We’ll bring you news about all the winners once all of the states and U.S. territories file their reports. Powerball is played in 44 states including Washington D.C. and several U.S. territories. Some states allow Powerball winners to remain anonymous, while others demand their information to stay public. It is unclear at this point who won the Powerball jackpot in California. We’ll bring you those details, and more on the Powerball winners as they are made available.

As demand for the Powerball winning numbers was immense, the Florida Lottery posted the following message on their official website.

“We are currently experiencing heavy demand for winning numbers. To ensure everyone is able to access this information without interruption, we are temporarily providing the most recent winning numbers and jackpots on this page.”

“To enter tickets into a second chance promotion, please check back later. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

Though the official Powerball drawing video had been released, neither Florida Lottery or the official Powerball website had posted the winning Powerball numbers on their sites by 11:30 p.m., ET. The Poweball winning numbers were drawn at 10:59 p.m.

According to reports, at one point in Florida, Powerball tickets were selling at the rate of 53,000 per minute.

While 53,000 Powerball tickets seems a great number, that was nothing compared to what New Yorkers were shelling out in order to get their chance at the winning numbers. As the evening progressed, New Yorkers were buying $4.3 million worth of Powerball tickets per minute.

While the name of the Powerball jackpot winner has yet to be released, memes are already surfacing on Twitter. One in particular features the singer Adele saying “Hello, it’s me…” The meme symbolizes how the Powerball jackpot winner will instantly have people approaching him or her asking for money. This is a common occurrence with Powerball and jackpot winners and is one of the main reasons many winners choose to remain anonymous.
