Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom Lost That Golden Globes Spark: Is She Still With John Mayer?
Katy Perry and Orlando have been the center of dating rumors since the Golden Globes on Sunday, January 10. But their recent sightings also has her fans wondering about her relationship status with John Mayer.
The “Dark Horse” singer and the British actor reunited at the Stella McCartney Autumn 2016 at the Presentation at Amoeba Music Center on Tuesday evening, sparking the rumors that Perry and Mayer have called it quits yet again. Perry, 31, and Bloom, 38, first sparked the dating rumors when they looked very flirty at the Weinstein and Co. and the Netflix Golden Globes after-parties.
Multiple sources claimed that the hot new pair reportedly had a dance-off and shared a vape pen together. Katy and Orlando were even seen leaving one of the parties together at one point, but they apparently attended more than one after-party on Sunday night. The two were seen together again at the Stella McCartney show.
An alleged inside source told E! News that Bloom arrived after Perry and rushed over to talk to her. The two stars hugged and had a private conversation before mingling with the other guests. While Bloom was trying his best to flirt, Perry didn’t look like she was feeling him that night.
But other sources told Us Weekly that Orlando and Katy started talking 20 minutes later when the Pirates of the Caribbean actor joined in on Katy’s conversation with Beck and Kate Hudson. But Katy tried to avoid Orlando when he joined in on the conversation. They did have to chance to talk alone at one point, but Katy “looked somewhat relieved” when the actor left the party with his friends. Maybe she didn’t want to stir up any more romance rumors?
Instead, the pop star mingled with the girls at the party. She posed with Hudson and Nicole Richie for a photo.
Hudson captioned the photo, “We [heart] Stella @stellamccartney #GettingWeirdAtAmoeba.”
Katy Perry then cracked a joke to Women’s Wear Daily as to why she attended the event.
“I came here tonight to sell some of my used CDs, then I found out it was a Stella McCartney event. I’m just kidding. Actually my next stop is Wasteland to trade these clothes in. No, kidding again.”
There was one person that Katy was smitten with and it was Ms. Stella McCartney herself.
“She had an event one time in a Mexican restaurant, and so I love that she thinks off the cuff, she’s not like, in a formula. So I guess she comes from rock-and-roll and this is rock-and-roll.”
The Grammy-nominated singer then danced and sang along to “Proud Mary” as she hung out with some of her closest friends. Well, so much for that possible romance.
Inside sources told E! News that Perry is still dating musician John Mayer, 38. One of the sources says that the on-again-off-again couple is “still very much together,” and that Perry and Bloom are just friends. Even Bloom knows that Perry is a taken woman.
The couple was last spotted leaving The Nice Guy together at 4:30 a.m. on New Year’s Eve. The on-and-off couple has kept their fans guessing about their relationship. Katy and John first broke up in February 2014 after dating since 2012.
After a plethora of confusing reports on their relationship, they were then spotted together again at Disneyland California in May 2015 and have been on-and-off since. Insiders revealed to Us Weekly that the two were seen holding hands and looking very much like a couple again.
