Kim Kardashian’s Selfie Secrets: Hillary Clinton Talks Tips She Learned From The Selfie Queen

As it turns out, Kim Kardashian’s selfie secrets aren’t exactly secrets anymore — and the person spilling her secrets is most unexpected!

On Monday, Hillary Clinton took a few minutes to tell all about her experience in taking a selfie with the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star. While talking to Ellen DeGeneres during an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Clinton detailed the secret selfie tool Kardashian uses every time she takes a selfie with her phone.

Clinton famously took a selfie with Kim Kardashian and husband Kanye West back in August when she met the famous couple at a fundraiser held at Scooter Braun’s mansion in Los Angeles. Braun is the manager for long-time Kardashian family friend Justin Bieber, and Kris Jenner’s boyfriend, Corey Gamble, works for the music magnate.

On Monday, Hillary talked about her first selfie experience with the selfie queen.

“First of all, she was very nice,” Clinton told Ellen when speaking about Kim K. “Of course, when she says to me, ‘Can we take a selfie?’ Hello, of course! That’s like an obvious answer.”

Clinton went on to reveal Kim Kardashian’s selfie secret, admitting that Kardashian impressed the presidential candidate with her photo-taking technology.

“She takes out her phone and she presses a button. I’ve never seen this anywhere else. You’re a famous celebrity — maybe you have, I haven’t. She holds [the phone] up — it has lights all the way around it. Like little tiny, tiny light bulbs.… It makes anybody look better! I have been desperately looking for one of those ever since with no luck!”

During the interview, Ellen — always the comedienne — jokes that Kim Kardashian is “hideous” in real life without the tiny lights. Hillary calls Kardashian “beautiful,” though she admits that the secret selfie lights make everyone look better.

“She whips it out, she hits this button, the light is there, she holds it at a perfect angle, and she makes everybody look better than you have any reason to look.”

Though Hillary took time to talk about Kim Kardashian’s selfie secrets, Clinton’s interview with Ellen wasn’t limited to talking about pop-culture phenomenons. Clinton also addresses a series of hot-button issues, including the additional challenges she believes she faces in running for president as a woman.

Clinton said that she believes it’s much more difficult for a woman to run for president because there’s always a test of perception.

“I feel like if you are forceful, you’re too forceful. If you’re not forceful, you’re not tough enough. It’s just a constant evaluation all the time about how you’re being perceived and so much of the perception is rooted in very ancient feelings about the roles of men and women,” Clinton told Ellen.

The former first-lady went on to say that she hopes she can help break down doors so that, in the future, boys and girls can live their own lives and be true to themselves.

“I’ve had so many interesting and sometimes surprising experiences where people will say — men will say to me — ‘I never though I’ve support a woman for president, but I’m at least considering supporting you.’ And that’s a big step forward because I don’t know how we’re going to open the door for more girls and boys to live the lives they choose until we get rid of a lot of these stereotypes and caricatures and break through together.”
