Did Donald Trump Unfairly Attack Bill Clinton? Hillary Thinks So

Donald Trump has repeatedly attacked Bill Clinton and his sex life. According to CBS News, Trump even compared Bill Clinton to Bill Cosby.

“Well, the whole Cosby thing is a weird deal and he’s got himself some big problems. And you’d almost have to ask Bill Clinton that question. It would be a very interesting question to someday ask him,” Trump was quoted as saying by CBS in an interview.

CBS News also adds that Trump told the show Face the Nation that Hillary Clinton was pandering to women and he has more respect for them than she does. Trump also said he was the only candidate willing to talk about the “problems” with Bill Clinton. Many people on Twitter agree with Donald Trump.

In a separate article, CBS News reports that Hillary has fought back against Trump’s accusations.

“Didn’t work before, won’t work again. If he wants to engage in personal attacks from the past, that’s his prerogative. I’m going to draw the distinctions between where I stand and where he stands, especially on issues like equal pay and the minimum wage,” Clinton tells CBS News.

Clinton went on to add that what Donald Trump says about her really doesn’t matter. She says she’s not going to let any Republicans rip away at the strides women have made. She said that she is going to keep stressing the differences between her and Donald Trump.

Perhaps Donald Trumps attacks on Clinton is helping. According to The Hill, Mr. Trump is increasing his lead over fellow Republican running mate Ted Cruz.

“Donald Trump leads Ted Cruz by 2 percentage points in a new poll from Iowa, suggesting a tightening presidential race ahead of the state’s Feb. 1 caucuses. Trump leads the GOP field, with 31 percent support, in Quinnipiac University’s new poll, followed closely by Cruz’s 29 percent. That slim lead is within the poll’s 4-point margin of error.”

The Hill adds that voters, however, view Cruz more favorably than they do Trump and are open to the possibility for voting for Cruz. As expected, Trump has upped his attacks on Cruz, claiming he shouldn’t be running for the presidency since he is allegedly not a natural-born U.S. citizen.

Meanwhile, The New York Times reports that Bernie Sanders is closing in on Hillary Clinton in the polls in Iowa.

“Sharpening her tone as new polling suggested that Mr. Sanders was closing in on her in the state, Mrs. Clinton assailed Mr. Sanders by name, telling 300 people on a frigid and snowy day here, ‘I think it’s time for us to have the kind of spirited debate that you deserve for us to have.'”

The New York Times adds that Hillary tried to dodge criticism from Mr. Sanders that she is a leader of the rich, even revealing a “fair share surcharge” that would add a new tax on people who earn more than $5 million a year. Clinton’s campaign estimated that increasing the income tax on the wealthy by four percentage points would generate $150 billion in revenues in a period of over ten years.
