WWE News: World Wrestling Entertainment Weakens New Japan

In WWE news, Vince McMahon has severely weakened New Japan by acquiring their top stars and competing with their online subscription service, according to Wrestling Inc.

Less than a week into the near year, professional wrestling has been hit with the biggest story in quite some time. It is something that is going to change the industry in a major way.

For quite some time there, WWE was dead set on not signing known commodities because they wanted fresh faces that they can mold from day one. NXT was truly for the amateurs.

Vince McMahon has apparently been convinced to drop that tradition, as WWE has reportedly signed AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Karl Anderson, and Doc Gallows from New Japan.

For those that are not aware of the happenings in New Japan, those four guys are among the biggest stars in the promotion. They’re routinely featured on television and pay per view.

AJ Styles made a name for himself in TNA by being one of the best performers on the planet. After leaving the company due to a contract dispute, he headed over to New Japan to work.

Despite being a foreigner, AJ Styles was shown a lot of trust and appreciation from the creative department in New Japan, as the promotion booked him as one of their main event guys.

In a sign of respect by New Japan, AJ Styles was even allowed to hold the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship on two occasions. Only a handful of performers have done that.

The IWGP World Heavyweight Championship is one of the most prestigious belts in the history of pro wrestling. Legends like Antonio Inoki and Tatsumi Fujinami have held that belt.

Outside of ROH fans, not a lot of Americans are familiar with Shinsuke Nakamura, but that should be changing soon enough. He is one of the most talented performers in the world.

Shinsuke Nakamura has held the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship on three separate occasions and has been booked in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom, a huge yearly event.

Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows have dominated the tag team scene for New Japan for quite some time now. Fans in that country love that they play the raunchy foreigners gimmick.

When it comes to massively popular stables, the Bullet Club has become a certified global sensation. Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows are two of the main members of the outlaw group.

AJ Styles also happens to be a member of the Bullet Club, a move that surprised a lot of New Japan fans when he first joined the group. The heel turn by Styles was quite unexpected.

Back when NXT Heavyweight Champion Finn Balor worked for New Japan, he was known as Prince Devitt. Balor also happens to be the guy that created the Bullet Club stable.

The internet wrestling community was recently able to get Vince McMahon to change his mind. If McMahon wants to cater to them, then a reformation of the Bullet Club would work.

A new Bullet Club stable with AJ Styles, Finn Balor, Karl Anderson, and Doc Gallows would easily be able to replace the League of Nations as the top heel stable in the promotion.

The Bullet Club can also help WWE draw in more viewers from Japan, as the WWE Network has officially launched there. It will compete with the New Japan World online service.

New Japan World has not done as well as the company had hoped, and the availability of the WWE Network will make it even harder for NJPW to increase their market share in Japan.

WWE has declared war against New Japan.
