Sea Org Not The Reason Behind Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes Divorce, Says Church Of Scientology

Why did Katie Holmes file for divorce from Tom Cruise? Why does she want sole custody of Suri? Ever since the divorce was made public last week rumors have been circulating about went wrong. One of the most prevalent rumors is that Holmes didn’t want Suri to grow up in the Church of Scientology and decided to divorce Cruise before he sent their little girl to the Sea Organization, an elite group within the church.

According to TMZ, that rumor is probably false since Sea Org candidates have to be 16-years-old or older to be enrolled.

A spokesman for the church also said that Sea Org candidates need the “consent of both parents and/or all legal guardians” in order to join and that “there are no exceptions to that policy.”

The Church of Scientology website reads:

“The minimum age of Sea Organization members is generally the minimum age in any state or country that a person is legally permitted to work.”

So Suri may be a few years away from joining Sea Org but that doesn’t mean that the Church of Scientology didn’t play a role in the divorce. Reports surfaced over the weekend that Holmes was being stalked by members of the Church.

Gary Sote, the organization’s attorney, denied these reports. Sote said:

“There is no truth whatsoever to the TMZ.com report (or any other report) that the Church of Scientology has sent anyone to follow or surveil Katie Holmes.”

Do you think sea org and the Church of Scientology played a part in the Katie Homes / Tom Cruise divorce?
