J.K. Rowling’s ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’: Trailer Released For Harry Potter Spinoff [Video]


Harry Potter fans have been waiting for four years for this moment to arrive, and now the trailer for the upcoming film Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them is available for viewing.

As reported by the Hollywood Reporter, the film is set in the magical world of Harry Potter, and the new spectacular is a spinoff from the popular Harry Potter books and movies, the latter of which turned out to be the highest-grossing film franchise ever.

Penned by the hand of Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, who also debuts as a screenwriter for the new movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be directed by David Yates, who also directed the final four Harry Potter films.

The film also brings together a number of people who were involved in the Harry Potter movies, including producers David Heyman, Rowling, Steve Kloves, and Lionel Wigram.

For those fans who have waited patiently for the last four years for something new featuring the magical world of Harry Potter, there is finally a glimpse into the new film, which is set for release in November 2016.

The trailer was released on the film’s official Twitter account Tuesday morning and shows the set of the movie in New York City back in the 1920s – the magical world introduced through the Harry Potter film franchise.

The leading role in the movie is played by Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne in the role of Newt Scamander.

The Theory of Everything star has become the wizarding world’s preeminent magizoologist. Redmayne’s character makes a stop in New York on his journeys to find and document magical creatures for what will become a Hogwarts textbook titled, as with the film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

From his various travels in the mysterious world, Newt’s briefcase is filled with various magical creatures. Naturally, it is only a matter of time before some of them escape and cause. all kinds of mayhem.

Among other cast members are Katherine Waterson, Alison Sudol, Tony Award winner Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, and Golden Globe Award winner Samantha Morton. Others appearing in the new movie, set in the world of magical Harry Potter, are newcomer Faith Wood-Blagrove, Jenn Murray, and well-known actor Colin Farrell.

As reported by Variety, the new movie is being filmed at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in England — the home of the Harry Potter films for some 10 years — while some scenes were also shot on location in Liverpool.

Director of Photography is Philippe Rousselot, who was responsible for A River Runs Through It and the Sherlock Holmes movies. Production designer is Stuart Craig, who was involved in Dangerous Liaisons, Gandhi, The English Patient, and, of course, the Harry Potter films. Costume design was performed by Colleen Atwood, whose work was featured in Alice in Wonderland, Memoirs of a Geisha, and Chicago.

As for those amazing visual effects, the supervisor is Tim Burke, who also worked on the Harry Potter films along with the movie Gladiator and is working together with another visual effects supervisor, Christian Manz. Manz worked together with Burke on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1.
