Ruby Rose and Phoebe Dahl End Engagement After Two Years As A Hit Couple!

Ruby Rose and Phoebe Dahl have split and put an end to their engagement after being together for almost two years.

Ruby Rose became an overnight sensation after her breakout role as Stella Carlin in season three of Orange Is The New Black and had announced that she was engaged to Phoebe Dahl, who is the granddaughter of author Robert Dahl, in March 2014.

It was revealed on Instagram back in 2014 that Dahl, who is also a clothing designer, initially turned Rose down three times before changing her mind and then being the one to propose to Ruby Rose instead. The duo had had a whirlwind romance and gotten engaged after just three months of dating, but had chosen to have a long engagement.

People magazine wrote that the Australian model and actress told them in a June interview that she enjoys the word fiancée.

“As it turns out we love being engaged, and I love the word ‘fiancée.’ It’s actually nice that we do wait that extra year and get to enjoy being engaged before we ball-and-chain it.”

Phoebe Dahl had fallen for 29-year-old Ruby Rose while still in another relationship but said that it was love at first sight for her. Rose also gushed about her then-fiancé in a similar manner in a previous interview with Out magazine. The gender fluid actress made waves earlier this year when she educated many on what exactly the term means and who she is.

“I feel like I’m neither, yeah. Well, if I had to choose it would be a boy, a guy. I feel like I’m a boy, but I don’t feel like I should’ve been born with different parts of my body or anything like that. I feel like it’s just all in how I dress and how I talk and how I look and feel, and that makes me happy.”

Dahl’s rep confirmed that the designer has since moved out of the actress’ home in Los Angeles, California’s Silver Lake neighbourhood. However, the current split is an amicable one with the couple’s increasingly busy schedule being placed at the heart of their decision to call off the engagement. A strain developed in their relationship as they were being forced to spend so much time apart. Phoebe Dahl launched a charitable clothing line last year called Faircloth & Supply and for each article of clothing sold the company donates a school uniform to a girl in Nepal.

The two actually tweeted at each other about how thankful they are for the time they had together.

According to US Weekly an exclusive interview with Ruby Rose confirming the announcement of the split and also has the actress asking for respect and privacy.

“After two wonderful years together, Ruby and I have decided to part ways. While we still love each other and support each other in every way, it is our mutual decision to part way. Our break is not the result of any media speculation, and we want nothing but the best for each other. Thank you for respecting our privacy in this very difficult time.”

A source close to the couple has also confirmed that one of the main difficulties for the two after ending their engagement is who will get custody of the couple’s shared pets but that they are working on that. One thing is certain though, the Inquisitr‘s previous article on straight women’s fascination with Ruby Rose means there might be some very happy women out there after the news of her split becomes more known.

Ruby Rose is currently working on a movie role, which will be alongside Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter before moving on to shoot with Keanu Reeves as he returns to the screen as a vengeful former hitman in John Wick 2.

The end of the couple’s engagement seems as if a lasting friendship between the two can still exist, and we wish them the best going forward.
