WWE News: Triple H Reveals Sami Zayn’s Return Date, Talks More NXT Takeover Specials In Future

As it was reported a few days ago, Sami Zayn is on his way back to WWE NXT. His shoulder injury was a bit disappointing for fans, as well as himself, over the summer. Like Zayn always does, he persevered and rehabbed his way back to the main event of WWE NXT. Not only was Zayn advertised for their tour of Europe, but he also tweeted out a confirmation for his fans.

If that’s not enough confirmation, then those WWE fans are, too, skeptical. Sami Zayn is finally coming back. His debut on the WWE main roster against John Cena was one of the highest moments of his WWE career. Along with Zayn’s NXT championship win against Neville, he’s already has career-defining events take place in his short WWE career.

Next Wednesday is NXT Takeover London. Finn Balor will take on Samoa Joe for the NXT championship. Emma will try her skills against Asuka. Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews are wrestling in a non-title match. Enzo and Big Cass are fighting for the NXT Tag-Team championship against Dash and Dawson. Nia Jax will attempt to win her first NXT Women’s title against Bayley.

Nowhere on that star-studded card does that include Sami Zayn. There’s a reason for that. Last night on WWE NXT, Rich Brennan noted that last night was their last show at Full Sail University until 2016. That’s because they are taping shows in the U.K. Triple H did his normal conference call with various media outlets. According to SEScoops.com, Sami Zayn isn’t wrestling at NXT Takeover London.

“HHH noted during the call that former NXT Champion Sami Zayn will indeed be in action at the event live, but his match will not air as part of the TakeOver: London special. Instead, Zayn’s return match will be taped to air on the following Wednesday’s episode of NXT TV on the WWE Network.

“Additionally, it appears that there will be a Fatal 4 Way and Elias Samson’s debut during the event in London, but those won’t be airing until the next NXT TV episode as well.

“Triple H said WWE is looking at promoting more TakeOver specials airing in various time slots in the future, including one in Japan in 2016, due to the success of the ‘Beast In The East’ WWE Network special earlier this year.”

The reason Sami Zayn isn’t wrestling at NXT Takeover London is because he doesn’t have to. WWE NXT’s specials always sell out, and have the entire WWE Universe watching. Even if it’s starting at 3 p.m. EST, the WWE fans that love WWE NXT are going to tune in. It’s the best wrestling the WWE puts in, and it’s not even close. The main roster has a plethora of talent, but they don’t know how to use it.

Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens, Neville, Stardust, and others have premiere wrestling ability. Yet, only one of them is in a high-profile feud. Owens is wrestling Dean Ambrose at TLC. Their feud barely got started, and they will have a contract signing on WWE Smackdown to attempt to raise the stakes in their feud.

There’s a reason why WWE NXT is exceeding their potential, while the main roster is failing. Sami Zayn’s re-emergence on the scene will only help and make WWE NXT even more popular, if that’s possible. What’s likely to take place is that Zayn may make an appearance next week, but since Triple H is denying it, then perhaps NXT officials may wait to get a bigger audience at a regular episode.
