Lamar Odom Update: Khloe Kardashian Won’t Allow Him To Move In, Divorce Moving Forward

Lamar Odom’s wife, Khloe Kardashian, halted divorce proceedings in October after the former NBA player was found unconscious at a legal brothel in Pahrump, Nevada. Now, it appears as though the divorce will soon move forward.

On October 13, Lamar Odom was discovered with mucus running out of his nose and mouth at Dennis Hof’s Love Ranch, where he had spent a weekend with a number of women. From there, he was transported to a nearby hospital, where he remained in a coma for three days. Once he awoke from the coma, Lamar Odom, accompanied by Kardashian, was transferred via medical helicopter to Los Angeles.

During last night’s new episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians Season 11, as recapped by Us Weekly on December 6, Kardashian spoke of her relationship with Lamar Odom, claiming that while she still has love for her former partner, she needs to move on with her life.

“I still very much love [Lamar Odom] but I need to move forward. Filing for the divorce is the worst thing in the world. It’s the worst feeling, you feel like you’re hurting everybody. But, I need to live my life the best that I know how.”

Lamar Odom and Kardashian were married in September 2009, 30 days after meeting at a party in Los Angeles thrown by their mutual friend, Ron Artest aka Metta World Peace. In the years after their wedding, the couple starred in Khloe & Lamar, a spinoff of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Then, in the summer of 2013, Lamar Odom was accused of cheating on his wife and using drugs behind Kardashian’s back, and months later, she filed for divorce.

As Lamar Odom continues to recover from his October drug overdose, he remains under medical care at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood, California, which isn’t too far from Kardashian’s home. However, according to a new report, Lamar Odom will eventually be released, and he may not have a stable home to return to.

“[Lamar Odom] can’t stay at Cedars forever,” an insider told Radar Online last week. “[Lamar Odom] needs long-term care… His associates really would like for him to have a home health-care type of situation, but that may not be possible.”

Although it was previously believed that Lamar Odom could make a full recovery and eventually be back to his old self, a TMZ report recently claimed he may be suffering from “extensive brain damage.” Last month, the site alleged Lamar Odom was unable to recognize some friends and family members and was struggling to walk and communicate verbally.

“Khloe has flat our refused to let [Lamar Odom] move into her house. She doesn’t want her house to be a hospital. She has been very clear about that.”

As Kardashian attempts to move on, Lamar Odom may be forced to enter a care facility where he will be kept under the care of medical staff, who can rush to his side if need be.

“[Lamar Odom]’s people want him to be in a quality care facility. But they are having trouble finding one that is secure and will provide him with the treatment he needs.”

Radar Online’s source went on to note that while Lamar Odom has a relationship with his two children, Destiny Odom and Lamar Odom Jr., there are no plans at least this point for him to move to New York City, where they reside with their mother, Liza Morales.
