‘The Bachelor’ Ben Higgins Spoilers: Ten Girls To Watch When Season 20 Premieres In January

The Bachelor Ben Higgins will make his debut as the Bachelor on January 4, 2016 and judging from the previews, fans are in for another interesting season. Although ET pegs the 27-year-old Colorado businessman as “young and kind of boring,” there is no doubt that the drama the girls bring will keep viewers entertained on Monday nights right through to the final rose ceremony in mid-March.

Ben finished in third place on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of The Bachelorette and was up against a few other fan favorites for the gig including Nick Viall and Andi Dorfman’s ex, Josh Murray. Nick and Josh both have a big fan base, but Ben won out perhaps because he has a squeaky clean image and was much-loved by fans.

Whether he will walk away from his season with the same positive image won’t be known until his so-called “journey to find love” begins in January. However, producer Mike Fleiss thinks fans are going to love him, tweeting that Ben’s season is one of his favorites.

Last week, ABC released a few details about some of Ben’s dates, along with a list of celebrities that will appear on the show this season including Kevin Hart, Ice Cube, and the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup championship soccer team. The press release didn’t offer any information about the 28 girls who will by vying for Ben’s heart this season with the network promising to release the photos and bios of the girl “soon.”

According to blogger Reality Steve, 28 girls were cast for the Bachelor 2016 with the usual drama queens and crazy ladies among the girls who are actually there for the right reasons — to snag Ben as their husband. Or, at the very least, go on over-the-top dates in destinations including the Bahamas, Jamaica, Mexico City and Las Vegas.

Spoilers indicate that producers weren’t all that creative with the dates this season, duplicating a few from past including a hot air balloon date (Chris Soules’ season) and a soccer date (Juan Pablo Galavis’ season). However, it’s the girls who are going to make this season come alive, so it doesn’t really matter where the dates will be.

Who are the women to watch this season and who will Ben pick at the final rose ceremony scheduled to air March 14? Here’s a round-up of the key cast members fans will be talking about this season. [Spoilers ahead]

Broadcast journalist Olivia Caridi is rumored to get the first impression rose this season, but she will not be a favorite among the other 27 girls.

“Olivia called Ben out for kissing a lot of the girls and things apparently started getting tense between Olivia and the girls… Olivia is definitely the ‘not here to make friends’ girl this season.”

Dentist Mandi Kremer will be great entertainment for the few episodes she appears on. Reality Steve states that she arrives with a giant flower on her head and gives Ben a dental checkup on the season premiere — not exactly the romance Ben was hoping for when he signed the contract to become the 20th Bachelor.

Caila Quinn is pegged as the drama queen this season, but that won’t stop her from making it to the overnight dates. The Ohio native is rumored to be one of Ben’s final three picks.

Two girls from Chris Soules’ season return for another shot at finding love: Becca Tilley and Amber James. Although they both make it through several rose ceremonies, Ben send them both home. Expect one or both girls on Bachelor in Paradise this summer.

Speaking of Paradise — twins Emily and Haley Ferguson may be a good fit for this summer’s drama-fest because they weren’t a match for Ben. Both were featured in the first Bachelor promo released by ABC last month. Let’s just hope they don’t talk at the same time while on the show.

JoJo Fletcher, who hails from Texas, may turn out to be one of this season’s favorites. There is speculation that she makes it to the final two, but was rejected at the final rose ceremony. Reality Steve states that producers rarely pick the runner-up to be the next Bachelorette due to scheduling, but there’s always a possibility that they will make a chance if they think she’s the best girl for the gig.

Health and wellness blogger Amanda Stanton is another girl who is rumored to be a potential Bachelorette. A single mother of two girls (1 and 3), she is rumored to make it to hometowns, but didn’t make it any further.

Put 25-year-old, California-based flight attendant Lauren Bushnell on your “who to watch” list when Ben’s season gets underway. Rumors that she became Ben’s clear favorite early-on in the season will probably be obvious. If Reality Steve‘s spoilers are correct, Lauren wins Ben’s final rose and they are engaged. Of course, his spoilers have been wrong before, but having a little intel always makes the season more fun to watch.

Watch Season 20 of The Bachelor starting with the two-hour premiere on January 4, 2016 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
