Kim Kardashian’s Pregnancy: Baby Not Breech After Procedure To Turn Him, ‘KUWTK’ Star Calls Process ‘More Painful Than Childbirth’

Kim Kardashian’s pregnancy has been the subject of media fodder for months, but now that her due date is approaching, Kim has begun to share more personal details — both from this pregnancy and from her previous pregnancy with North West.

Most recently, Kim K took to her website to let fans know that the baby boy she’s pregnant with right now is no longer in the breech position. In order to move the baby into the proper position, a team of doctors had to move the baby into a head-down position. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star wrote on her website that the procedure was more painful than childbirth itself.

“This weekend I checked into the hospital and underwent a procedure called an ECV (External Cephalic Version, or a Version), which is done to manually turn the baby from a breech position to a head-down position.”

Kim went on to write that in order to complete the procedure, a team of three doctors first gave her an IV with medication to relax her uterus, and then worked together to turn the baby.

Kardashian wrote that there were many dangers involved in the procedure — Kardashian’s water could have broken, or the baby’s heart rate could have dropped — in which case Kim was ready for an emergency C-section, she said. Kim, who went in with her sisters and husband, Kanye West, “was prepared for it all,” she wrote. Luckily, it didn’t come to that.

That’s not to say the procedure wasn’t extremely painful, Kardashian West wrote the following.

“They don’t give you any pain medication, and let me tell you: This was soooooo painful. Probably more painful than childbirth. BUT it worked!!!”

In addition to dealing with the procedure to turn the baby, Kim Kardashian West recently revealed via Instagram that she’s dealing with a sinus infection and the flu.

It’s not the first time the KUWTK star has taken to her website or social media accounts to write about her pregnancy woes. In mid-November, the Inquisitr reported that Kim had opened up about issues she faced during her previous pregnancy when she was carrying her daughter, North.

Because she was dealing with preeclampsia during her first pregnancy, Kim and Kanye’s daughter, North, was born more than a month early.

Preeclampsia is a condition characterized by a high blood pressure in the mother, and the condition is life-threatening to both the mother and the baby. According to the Mayo Clinic website, the only cure for preeclampsia is the delivery of the baby.

During her delivery of baby Nori, Kim Kardashian also dealt with placenta accreta. She described her situation on her website.

“Right after delivery, the placenta usually then comes out. Mine did not. My placenta stayed attached inside my uterus, which is a condition called placenta accreta. My doctor had to stick his entire arm in me and detach the placenta with his hand, scraping it away from my uterus with his fingernails. How disgusting and painful!!! My mom was crying; she had never seen anything like this before.”

More recently, a teaser for Sunday’s episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians led viewers to question whether Kim had gestational diabetes with her second pregnancy. The episode revealed Kardashian’s test results to be negative for gestational diabetes.

According to a previous report from the Inquisitr, Kardashian’s ears about her new baby, who is due around Christmas, are not just physical. Kim K also worries about introducing the baby boy to her daughter North West, and she hopes that North will receive the baby well. In October, Kardashian wrote the following on her website.

“Not going to lie, I’m a little nervous about bringing baby No. 2 into the mix. I’m nervous about how North will react, but I know she’ll be such a good big sister and I can’t wait to have this addition to our family. I know it it won’t be easy— North even has a hard time adjusting when I hold other babies!”
