Scarlett Johansson Celebrates Turning 31, Reveals Her Biggest Pet Peeve And Other Facts

Scarlett Johansson, who just turned 31-years-old on November 22, has become one of the biggest actresses in the film industry right now. Having landed the role of the first female superhero for Marvel’s cinematic universe, her fame has risen over the past few years.

Scarlett has been around for years; she appeared as a child in the 1994 movie North alongside Elijah Wood, Jason Alexander, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Four years later, she had a brush with fame in the critically acclaimed drama The Horse Whisperer. She continued her success with The Prestige and He’s Just Not That Into You. This was quickly eclipsed by her yet-enigmatic role in Iron Man 2, where she was eventually revealed to be Black Widow.

This happened around the same time as one of the most under-the-radar divorces in Hollywood, when she split with the upcoming Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds. Of course, that happened before either of them had really become successful celebrities. He was still riding the success of Van Wilder: Party Liaison and other lesser-known comedies that showcased his unusual sense of humor. He’d also nearly destroyed his acting career starring in three superhero flops in a row: Blade Trinity, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and The Green Lantern.

Scarlett Johansson remains at the top of her game, having reportedly made just as much money as her male co-stars in The Avengers. In a social climate where the Hollywood gender pay gap has gained more and more of a spotlight, Scarlett is one of the few who has allegedly not had that problem. Reprising her role once again in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War, she doesn’t show any sign of stopping, even though the character hasn’t had a solo film yet.

One thing you might forget is that as one of the best actresses in Hollywood, Scarlett Johansson still leads a very human life. People Magazine sat the Dolce and Gabbana model down to talk about life in general, and she revealed some things that might surprise you about the long-time Avenger.

The questions are not spoken but presented in text form as Johansson sits and offers answers. Her daughter was revealed to be one of her greatest joys, someone Scarlett was actually pregnant with when she was filming the last Captain America and led to only one film this year. The person who always makes her laugh is also the one she considers her favorite memory meeting him. Her husband, French journalist Romain Dauriac, has made an incredibly positive impact on her life over the past two years.

When asked what her favorite food was, Scarlett Johansson said “key lime pie.” The movie she can watch over and over turned out to be the 1958 comedy Auntie Mame starring Rosalind Russell.

One of Scarlett’s biggest pet peeves is one that reveals her to be a native New Yorker. Someone stealing her taxi really gets on her nerves. Having been born in New York, the actress has apparently spent years in the Big Apple navigating the streets with public transportation.

The next big role for Scarlett Johansson once again reprises her role of Black Widow in Captain America: Civil War and a role in the upcoming Ghost in the Shell live-action film, which is set for a 2017 release. Few women have accomplished what this formidable actress has, even rising from a child star to a successful film career as an adult.

Most child celebrities usually don’t turn out so well, with notable examples being Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Bynes, Macaulay Culkin, and Drew Barrymore.

Thankfully, Scarlett Johansson grew up with dignity and maintained it, proving she could do anything she wants, and she shows no sign of stopping. Happy belated birthday, Black Widow.
