Preteen Girl Says ‘Laughing Jack’ Told Her To Stab Stepmother To Death

An Indiana girl says, “Laughing Jack,” of Creepypasta notoriety, told her to stab her stepmother to death, and now she’s been declared unfit to stand trial in the woman’s slaying. CBS News reports that court documents associated with this case have been revealed, which share a variety of bizarre details.

The violent incident took place in July. The preteen, who hasn’t been identified in media reports, allegedly set fire to the family’s home before she brutally stabbed her stepmother to death. The New York Daily News reports that the 12-year-old girl confessed to the murder to police, telling them that “Laughing Jack” told her to do it.

In the months leading up to the brutal incident, the 12-year-old girl had approached her father at least once, requesting that he help her with her developing mental illness. She has since been diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder, formerly known as multiple personality disorder. The Indiana child became so mentally unstable and delusional that she believed “Laughing Jack” was talking to her, and telling her to commit the grisly crime she has confessed to committing.

The Fairfield Citizen reports that the 12-year-old Indiana girl remains a danger to herself and others where she is currently housed, in a juvenile facility. The state of Indiana has been ordered to find a mental hospital in which to submit her. To date, she has been rejected by 16 different psychiatric facilities. This could be due to the severity of her psychiatric condition, along with the gruesome nature of the crime she has admitted to committing.

“Laughing Jack” is a clown-like character featured in a story on Creepypasta. The bizarre entity befriends children and lures them into his trap before he murders them. The story writes that the character rips his victims open and stuffs them with candy. The Creepypasta character has a sort of cult following on the popular website, as well as on social media, which is why this particular case is attracting a lot of attention.

This case is also bringing back recognition to a similar case, which took place in 2014. Two 12-year-old girls reportedly lured one of their classmates into the woods while having a sleepover, before they both stabbed her at least 19 times. They reportedly committed this grisly stabbing to please the Creepypasta character named “Slender Man.”

The popularity of “Slender Man” only seemed to intensify after the violent stabbing of the 12-year-old Wisconsin girl. Unlike the latest violent incident, the 12-year-old victim of the “Slender Man” Stabbing survived the attack and has recovered. It’s impossible to say at this time if the recent news involving “Laughing Jack” will have the same effect.

Currently several professionals have declared the latest 12-year-old girl unfit to stand trial. She remains totally mentally unstable and is reported to be begging for help for her diagnosed mental illness. Since the state has been ordered to find her a psychiatric residential setting, she will hopefully get the help she so desperately needs.
